When I was an undergrad… I took some summer classes; it was awesome. Arts fest was cool too, btw. I found it interesting, the sports classes and for that time. I took tennis… I was pretty good already (captain of my high school team)… but I still learned a lot. I took Volleyball… bump, set, and spike… I also took ballroom dance at another time. These were amazing… I was in my high school production of Oklahoma… I got thrown into a dance number… long story… but the dance class helped me to see step ball change for more of how it fit into dig step, dig step, rock step… Imagine… Volleyball without a net for a moment. Teams opposing in the same vector or vectors… bumping and spiking…. Tennis… mixed and angles of inclusion. Now, if we looked at ballet and occupational health. And… oddly… kung fu Panda movements and tech Wii sports of training. Now… dig step, dig step… rock step… what is the essence of partnerships and uplift and diversity of expertise? Is disruption defined or used in isolation? What are those Values? How do we get to better and yet enjoy the now? Summer sessions and time and space. Camps and beyond… lock systems, local and larger contexts… breathe… live….

hey! i need some advice. so, Im in 8th grade and am currently picking my highschool classes. I'm taking every other class honors, however I'm not so sure in math. I'm taking algebra 1 right now and the high school options for me is Algebra 2 and Honors Algebra 2. I have an 87 in my first marking period for math and an 89 in the second marking period. To take honors I need at least a 90. So, since I am not taking honors Algebra 2, will that affect my chances of getting into Penn State eventually? I know I sound crazy considering i'm only in 8th grade but I've always wanted to go to Penn State since I was little and I worry that this may affect my chances.
Just try your best throughout high school, and the main thing is not tanking your gpa freshmen year like most people do. I’d take normal algebra 2 to help your unweighted gpa and overall understanding to get a foundation of math.
I currently attend Penn State (entering my 3rd year this fall). You will be fine with taking the normal algebra 2 (as the other commenters suggest). It will help your unweighted GPA which most colleges do see on your high school transcript anyway. I would suggest taking math classes beyond what your school may require as having a strong foundation in math will help with the math placement exam that you will have to take.

I really love Penn State… so good. The fallout from a number of years ago is still a harsh topic for many alumni. I get it…. it’s still painful in so many ways. The rebound and learning and growth into better process while not forgetting but also not dwelling… so many wonderful possibilities which lead us all to know, all our world does not have to have a huge “fall” for better…. Ugh I would never send my kid to Penn State. They hid a sexual child abuse scandal, their professors promote trans, another professor got caught having sex with a dog. Seems like their teaching anything but academics in that school.
