Drags it left ro right (never do this), then points claws up to pull rather than flush. I can see why they ignored it. Roof does not look repairable but the way you did it was as if you intended to damage it from the start.
What this contractor doesnt understand is he names multiple exclusions as to why replacement of roof is not covered. Wear & tear and improper workmanship are exclusions of coverage.. Juat because a roof is not repairable does not mean you get a new roof.
The exclusion for wear and tear is accurate. But the homeowner didn’t file a claim for wear and tear. They filed it for wind damage. Wind damage can’t be fixed due to the age of deterioration of the roof, which is why the full roof replacement is warranted.
@@ChicagoRoofer You"re incorrect and should take some policy courses and become licensed if your going to speak to people as if your an expert on policies. Policies say they cover for direct physical damage. Show where in that homeowners policy it says if shingles are worn or "unrepairable" that the policy covers that. You are quite uninformed if you think because a claim is filed for wind damage that wear and tear or other exclsusions cannot be applicable for some or all of the scope of the loss. And if your speaking in regard to a specific juristiction that would rule differenly, then you should state clearly in your videos of that fact and stop making blately false general statements on coverage.
Funny thing is I am a licensed Public Adjuster and I can tell you for a fact that this roof was approved for exactly the reason I’m stating in my comment. There was a direct physical loss of wind damaged, which is a covered peril. The carrier paid to replace the damaged shingles. The damaged shingles cannot be replaced because of the condition of the roof. Basically, to remove one shingle you have to manipulate three shingles around the one you’re removing. While manipulating those shingles, it causes additional damage. If you’re an adjuster, please let me know.
@@ChicagoRoofer Are you a roofer or a public adjuster. Quite a conflict to be both and most often done by scamming storm chasers. Dont confuse the fact that the roof may get paid by the carrier that it was covered. Carriers often take positions that are favorable to the homeowner outside the language of the policy.
Hell, the roof is old,Brittle and garbage. Should the Ins com pay to replace the whole thing? If they are required to INS rates skyrocket. It's a constant battle on both sides. The home owner increasingly wants INS to pay for everything, while the INS co fight back sometimes to the extremes. People hear about the issues, not when things go well.
I have yet to see one of these videos where it didn't look like the roofer was trying to fuck up the shingles. I could have separated that tab without tearing anything up. I also could have hacked it to fuck with a dull nail bar.
That's an old roof, it needed to replaced regardless of the "damage". Suck it up and pay for it like the rest of the homeowners do. Stop trying to make insurance companies pay for maintenance, it's costing us all more money, you greedy bastards.
So why would you think the insurance company would have to pay for that old roof and not the homeowner? It’s not the insurance companies responsibility to pay for an old roof it’s the homeowners responsibility. That’s what comes owning a home Leave the insurance companies alone unless it’s an act of God.
Inaurance is the biggest legal scam in the market. I will not ever purchase insurance again from any company. I do not need someone else telling me when i can use my money and what i can use it on. The money saved is better put in an account and drawn from when needed
This video was SO helpful! We’re taking on our first State Farm claim as a small business and they covered soft metals and some ridge cap making the claim conveniently just under the deductible but shingles surrounding vents are super brittle and hoping to take this route. I believe the shingle is discontinued as well
These adjusters are incredibly arrogant and dumb. Seems to me these bums are lazy and don’t wanna do extra paperwork to cover peoples damages that they already pay for monthly 😂😂 unbelievable
Most Adjusters get paid more for larger claims. Adjusters want to replace roofs. It's the insurance companies that determine what's repairable and what's not. Lastly these 25 yr rated shingles are older than 25 years.
Yet the insurance company promised them they would take care of them in the event. They suffered a loss. They had every opportunity to say sorry, the shingles are discontinued or old and not repairable, and the roof must be replaced.
I would be concerned with who the insurance carrier is not the agent the insurance company,,, I would be very concerned if that company had the word farm in their name also.
It’s what an adjuster is supposed to do. My uncle did that for years before becoming a fraud investigator. He saved his company so much money they allowed him to work when he felt like it, only come into the office when he would soon have to testify or give deposition and the like. For 3 of the last 5 years of his working life he received 100k plus bonuses and 2 cruises around the world. Fraud is big business and affects everyone’s rates.
What in the world does that adjuster expect to be done to "repair" that roof?? It's one thing to try the old "storm/wind damage scam" but if you can't even lift the edges of the singles without a freaking pry bar and damaging singles trying to "repair" it, that's another story.
at the 4:05 mark, he says it self-adjusts to any pitch roof. Half true, their website states for low slope roofs you need to sink lab bolt in to secure it.
As soon as these and other similar products stop being greedy with the price they will sell hundreds of thousands. Until then people are just going to steal the idea and make one themselves. so dumb $700 who you kidding?
