100% agree on lipo battery breakdown. My garage is full of Zeee & HooVoo 2s/3s lipos 👍🏽 Got same buggy & same bend on front tower 😆 on 1st big crash. My 811te RTR is favorite & much tougher RC compared
@@Justin-os2zc there was no rolling. If you watch the video we were doing 5-8 mph and never put the wheeler in a situation to “roll”. But putting a child on the back of a bicycle strapped to a seat isn’t dangerous?
@@theatvfamily I just saw the end where you were showing them and was curious. I’ve never seen them before so just wanted the opinion of someone who’s used them. I don’t think so, I mean a bicycle doesn’t weigh a couple hundred pounds.
@@Justin-os2zc no danger at all. No more than a bicycle as mentioned. weight is not a factor. Two wheels if it falls is a direct fall to concrete and more and likely heads hitting first which seems pretty dangerous at that same 5 mph. Rather than 4 wheels in dirt or sand at same speeds. I would say it’s a lot safer honestly. But they worked great no issues
The HoBao Hyper VS2 is of better build quality than the standard RTR SERPENT SRX8-E . If someone is going to buy a SERPENT to race seriously , they buy the PRO SERPENT KIT . The RTR is average quality , and their shock towers are weak , especially if you land on them if a jump goes awry wrong . The SERPENT PRO has 7075 CNC where as the RTR only has 6061 alloy . 6061 shock towers on a heavier 8th scale buggy are weaker and cannot take impact if landed on without bending .
I’ve had this rtr for over 2 years now. Also have the kit. I raced with the rtr no issues at all. Striped servo horn was all I did. I disagree, serpent is extremely better quality than the Hobao. Hands down. Plus serpent is on shelves at local hobby store and almost every part is available in the Miami warehouse and within a day or two. Plus the Hobao is more expensive. Serpent is proven that’s a fact. Hobao isn’t a bad unit but I don’t compare them at all. The rtr is of course going to have the cheaper parts. That’s all rtrs. But rtr vs rtr. Not even a comparison to any other company. And this is just from experience
Because they are over priced. And the 500 would be way too much for what I wanted to do. I didn’t buy this bike. This isn’t mine as stated in the video because it was just too much for what I wanted. If I’m gonna spend that. I’m getting a street machine. But I do know the KTMs are good bikes
I have just sold my Husqvarna FE501 , basically the same bike as an EXC500 and I am buying a 450L because I want reliability and more comfort on the road. If I change the ECU then I have the same power as the Husky/KTM
Just TQed and took 1st in truggy at my local track yesterday with this kit, i just changed the diff and shock oils and used rawspeed tires...this truggy is awesome for the price and ready to race!
Dude I got a 2400kv motor hoping to just gear up to match stock speeds but the biggest pinion I can fit is 17t and they don’t sell smaller spurs for some reason! Idk what to do 😅 any ideas on how to gear up? Maybe I run 4s instead of 3s??
Hi. Regrading to the SERPENT SRX8-T TRUGGY kit FRONT and REAR DRIVE SHAFT AXLES CVDS are they same as the RTR with size I mean If I need to replace my RTR with the kit drive shaft and axles cvds any thing to change? Peace
I’m not 100% sure I haven’t seen the kit yet to confirm difference. But if it is similar to the buggy. They will be the same axles but the cvd will be different. Where it connect to the hub
I think I would like that quick jerky throttle because if you're hustling on a single track, that quick little snap will help loft that front tire off the ground and other earth buy products 😉..What I heard about that bike it's a pass for me . And I'm a Honda fan . But to buy an ECU right off the showroom floor . Nope ....
22.40 The seat is so bad x 100, good review buddy everything you said I was saying it just before you said it. Two mouths now 2nd service coming my Wed ( 17th Apr ) can't wait to get back to riding after that.
Glad to hear it's good. My dad and I are kinda thinking about getting back into RC (and 1/8 truggy is our favorite) now that the track that's near-ish us is open year round instead of just the winter. But dropping ~$700 just for a roller (tekno, since the last ones we had were teknos) and then at least another ~$400 on electronics, plus batteries and a charger... thats just too much at once to get back into it. A ~$400 decent RTR truggy (just need batteries and charger) on the other hand... But I think we're both gonna end up getting mini-zs soon since they're cheap and look fun, and are easy to find somewhere to drive, but this is definitely in my back pocket for his birthday.
They aren’t required there over the age of 18. The circumstances didn’t warrant one in my eyes. Nothing was all that dangerous to put one on. Hell I had a better chance of hurting my self putting Christmas lights up without a helmet. 🤣
@@ernestocintron5054 Yeah it’s not somewhere to go like croom. It’s all private property that people ride on. We aren’t supposed to be there truthfully. So it’s not like a park or anything. Just have to load up go in ride and get out. Lol
@@wallywhitefpv well 3 cells are bigger than 2. Not sure if the straps are gonna fit around them. And you can not race 6 cell either. Just a heads up. Only 4 cell
The Vortex ECU and FMF Full exhaust changes this bike so much it's unreal! I was on the fence of selling mine but now that I did the tune and exhaust I fell in love!! Never stalls, no flame outs, and WAY more power.
I found this video a year late but I found it, I just bought one of these serpent buggies , happy to know that it's a tuff buggy , I'm not one if the real graceful drivers , I've been out if the hobby about as long as you said you were , great video
The MX wheel setup would be 21 and 19. The 21 and 18 is identical to the cross country race bikes, the RX models for Honda. I had a 2021 KLX300 which I traded in because it had an electrical issue (still under warranty) and I was tired of waiting for the dealership to sort it out. I was going to get a new KLX300 but there was a used CRF450L with only 750 miles, for about the same price. I decided to do the upgrade. Man, oh man! Huge difference! I did go ahead and invest in an aftermarket ECU which really helped to smooth out the power delivery and make it more linear, but also increased the power. I got a switch to be able to go from full power to an enduro mode which smooths it out even more. I also had to order a Seat Concepts seat immediately to replace "The Log Splitter". It's my commuter, it's my light ADV bike, and it is also my backup single track bike. It truly is a do-it-all machine. Nothing wrong at all with the KLX300.
I've got a KLX300 and thinking of getting a 450RL , I like the KLX but want some more power and I don't like the hand vibrations when riding the highway on the KLX
@@mrcolin2u The 450RL will certainly give you the power you're looking for, but I don't think the hand vibrations on the 450 will be any better than on the KLX, at least stock. I still have a stock handlebar setup on my bike, but hear that a 1 1/8 bar will vibrate less. I also don't remember for sure if the 450 vibrates any more or less than the KLX but do know for certain that if you're looking for more power than the KLX, the 450RL vibrates much less than some of the other competition like the KTM 500/ Husqvarna 501.
Well, yeah because it is an MX bike pretty much that’s why. It’s also $4000 more to. And the Honda can’t hold a candle to the technical slow moving aspects of what the Klx is designed for. You’re talking about two totally different machines built for two totally different purposes so
I have the 450L, which is essentially the same, and you have to be a little more active on these bikes. I ride mostly desert with some mountain trails in the Cascades and medium to fast it's a dream machine. Slow, technical, or something similar is way outside it's design. I have added quite a few mods over the years and at one point tried to set it up for more technical riding and it did not do well. Probably related mostly to my lack of skill with that type of riding but either way I set it up again for faster desert riding/racing with a tower for GPS for some ADV/BDR stuff. As of now I couldn't imagine a bike being better for me.
I disagree! The Hobao HYPER SSTE 1/8 TRUGGY ELECTRIC would eat that thing alive! Plus you can also buy it as a Roller or RTR! They also have a Nitro Version. Hobao also has super fast shipping! I just got a Short Course truck from them last week and I had it in 3 days!
A roller will cost you 2x as much once you buy all the necessary items separately! Not to mention the Serpent has WAY MORE parts available NOW within days. Sepernts are on shelves at 3 hobbies stores local to me and I get my cars or parts in 1 Day from Serpent America! Yep ONE day. You cant even find a Hobao on a shelf let alone parts. Plus, again the cost of the Hoboa over 150 more than the Serpent RTR! The Hoboa is a nice car but Ive seen both side by side and the Serpent 100x better quality. NO CONTEST on which is the better buy. Serpent. OH and they also are an extremely well known brand. Champion bred for years
By the serpent in a kit and the hobao wouldn't touch it. The serpent build quality is second to none the only thing I have that comes close and I have a kyosho inferno 10 and a Mugen eco 8 the Mugen you're the only thing that comes close
This bike is superior to anything in its class. This guy made this video simply to down class it over his. lol. And anyone with knowledge knows this. Why even make a video at all?
No where did I down anything! Clearly I explained why I like the bike I choose and clearly I stated what type of rider should buy this one! Did you even listen to the video? No you didn’t. Just another moron that spouts off about not knowing a thing
Best in class with a 2 gal tank. For mx, ok. For dual sport - nope! And when I read about people saying get a larger tank, ECU and other upgrades, the price point advantage compared to others fades away...
So i just received my rtr nitro version. And found some pro or kit shock towers on the bay but for e version. So i cant swap shocks by themselves i have to swap everything else?
@@theatvfamily sorry meant shock towers . But I thought you meant other stuff had to as well like a arms and such. But might not even the stocks are pretty decent
I was worried when I purchased the kit almost returned it but I'm glad I didn't it's a very nice kit only thing is is a radio is poo poo dung dung which we all know second I don't know if anybody knows would you happen to know what weight oil is in the shocks this thing is stiff as my back and I'm only 47
