Great catches! Railhead download took place August 26 to September 1, 2022 (WTI 1-23 Exercise Ran thru Oct--20) unloading & reloading took place @ Mesquite Regional Landfill Railyard in Glamis, CA.
It's so odd to see an Amtrak over on Track 2, even if it's one that isn't 'supposed' to be there. With the length of the train, it wouldn't surprise me if it was crossing Beryl before the end had cleared the station. Unfortunately, I didn't hear about the rerouting until after it was cleared. :(
That horn really sounds like the train is headed towards Richmond and not Ridgeway. Like it’s going to have to stop at a siding to let the Silver Meteor pass by.
Quality video! I really enjoyed it. And I often watch the Virtual Railfan Ashland Va cam.. So glad you got to see the AT slip through your area. Can u believe some passengers thought they were hostages? Lol.
I was amazed to hear that the train was coming through Raleigh. I heard about the reports of the "hostage" issue and laughed. I felt bad for them being on the train for so long but that got a good laugh out of me.

At the time of this recording I was visiting as well. From what I know they are a Monday thru Friday operation with the Rock train (seen at the start of the video) running on Saturday for the return trip to Carthage, TN.
The Viewliner Baggage Car, which allows NC By Train to offer checked baggage and bike service on the Carolinian, was suspended thru the fall due to equipment shortages throughout the system. Service was projected to resume on or about Nov. 17 in time for the Thanksgiving rush. But ongoing staffing and equipment issues didn't allow the full return of the baggage car and checked baggage service to resume on the Carolinian until this past weekend.
