2 questions 1. if you defeat the time delay from the dip switch, does it also get rid of the eq? 2. I have mine connected to factory speakers, and the amp has its own power ground, but runs pretty hot most of the time, it hasn’t gone into protect but it gets toasty, is this normal?
I have a 24 Toyota Grand Highlander with JBL audio. I want to use the key to power the front stage. The JBL has separate channels for tweeter, mid and woofer up front. The tweeter doesn't have the 4 wires like most Toyota...just 2. How do i setup the bi amp for 3 way?
Missed the show, but wanted to ask if I should recone my used Solo X 12 now because I bought 2 more? If I reconed the used one then they would all wear in at the same time..
I would love for some clarification regarding the tuning at 31hz. If the internal volume is 8.6 with a port 7x16x21 totaling 111 sq inches. How does that equate to 31hz ? Based off the specs it’s showing 34-35hz and if it was really 31hz it would require a 27”L port. Someone please explain
I'm a single father. My wife passed in a collision in 2012. When a drunk lady who was running from the cops T-boned us while we were stopped at a red light. Her insurance had been revoked three weeks prior when she got another DUI. My daughter was very young. She had two black eyes, but no sinus damage, or otherwise. I had over thirty hours of surgery to install 40 screws and three plates into my pelvis, replace the top of my femur with that of a donor's, sew up my diaphragm where my femur skewered me like a shish kabob. I've done the best I could to take care of my daughter. And more recently, my mother. She had another stroke a few months ago. They pulled her drivers license because she lost most of her vision. She gets really frustrated over silly things that don't really matter. She's really been struggling mentally. So she came to stay with me and my daughter Annabelle. But money has always been tight. I've done No drugs, no alcohol, no sleeping around, no real social life. Im mostly pretty depressed. It seems like things almost never go right for me. I'm still in love with my wife, after all these years . I still dream about her. I still wake up reaching for her. OMG my heart sinks when she's not there. She never is. My daughter will be turning 16 in 6 months. I saved and bought her a 2010 Pontiac vibe, for $2500 It has low miles and it's super clean. Apparently it was a collaboration between Toyota and Pontiac. She really likes it. But the factory stereo is lacking. This amp, the key 200.1 looks amazing. If it's as good as I believe it is, I will definitely buy her one as soon as I have a few extra dollars to do so. I have a CXA 600.1 in my car that I got at a pawn shop for $80. It's currently pushing a comp RT10 in a small truck box. It hits hard for the size of the box, and the fact that it's a low profile 10" instead of a deep throated 12. I bought the crt10 and box together off of Facebook marketplace for $60. I'm sourcing them with a 20 year old single din Alpine. I bought one of the little deals that you plug into a cigg lighter. It picks up Bluetooth and turns it into an FM station. It works for now. My daughter is an extreme audiophile and I'm stressing everyday wishing I could fix her stereo sooner. I think I'll let her use my crt10 and my CXA600.1 so she'll have some bass. But this four channel amp would make her stereo so awesome. I will still have to get some door speakers. I think it has co-axles in all four doors. I would like to put two way components in the front doors. But I'll just have to do the best I can. I really want to buy her a nice double din stereo with Android auto. (She loves her Motorola). And set her up with a rear view camera. It will make me so happy to help make her stereo something she can be proud of. She really gets into her music and this would make her ecstatic, for months. She's always so thankful for any gift she receives. I plan on having her help me install the components. She enjoys hands on work. She's an amazing kid and I find it hard to believe that anyone could deserve it more than her. She's Honest, dependable, hard working. She'll go out of her way to give a stranger her last $5, if she thinks they really need it. She's a really great kid. I'm proud of her. I liked and subscribed to your channel. I look forward to watching more of your content. Thank you for your consideration. Respectfully, Bob.

If they're coaxials you can absolutely do that. Depending on the make/model you might be leaving a little output on the table. For example, KICKER's 6.5 CS Coaxials have a recommended power rating of 100W. The four KEY200.4 channels are 50W each @ 4 ohms. If you're Bi-Amping (where woofer and tweeter each get their own channel) you'll only have enough for 4 drivers, in which case the two 6.5 woofers are installed on AMP 2, and the two tweeters are installed on AMP 1.
I have a question, should an amplifier gain be set to the clipping point of the head unit (let’s say 38 of 40 on a O-scope) or set it to the 3/4 rule (30/40) that most people suggest?
@@rynev3392 If you're using Bass Boost, you'll need to do the O-Scope gain setting procedure after you turn it on or adjust it. The remote bass knob (different from Bass Boost) is an attenuator - you'll want that knob maxed out when you do the gain measurement/adjustment.
Man bro yall aught to come up with a recone kit or at least parts for the older L7 subwoofers i get u would rather nake the larger sale but it is possible to get parts that work from other sources but oem would be much better
Hi Larry, unfortunately the new ReCone procedure is born out of a "from the ground up" sort of design. Our older Solo X products 20-odd years ago had the SPARE replacement procedure, so this is something we've done before with competition level products. It has to be incorporated into the design from the get-go, and there are costs associated with that which would get passed on to customers who have no need for it. This ReCone procedure is orders of magnitude easier than a traditional rebuild and allows an SPL competitor to get back in the fight right away. Thanks for your comment!
So I have a 4 channel- 2 are bridged to one- goes to sub. Other 2 go to the door speakers Amp1 and amp2 labels (for channels) Which crossover mode should those be in on each set of channels for my bass to NOT come out of my door speakers (sub only)-
I have 2021 jeep Gladiator i already installed key 2004 4 ch amp the Highs sound great but i need bass can install this with the key 2004 & key 2005 together would it work?
Love it... "Don't Retire, Recone". I already annoy my neighbors though... I'm an at home nudist and refuse to buy curtains or blinds... made some neighbors go blind though! LOL
Waiting for a Ford Maverick one to replace my Kicker TCWRT672 hint hint. Certainly a single 8 would be perfect and the truck is becoming very popular for audio customization 😊 On a side note you should make grill covers to fit those as many use that sub separately also in many locations and only 8 inch and above are available. You will definitely sell 2 for my box.
