The intro is only accurate for the English speaking fan base I know a creature in a different language that did the least perfect save file meaning catching the least amount and also encounter the least amount
if you do do min pokedex completion and correct your clickbait, then please also actually do every game in the franchise instead of every region in every gen
Food for thought..couldn't you just not hatch the gift eggs? Since they cant be used in battle or registered in anything untill hatched, techically you arent using a Pokemon and you could just box the egg.
for the first 6 games ENOUGH to have enough HM moves so Gen 3 and 5 are really the only ones you can SOLO Starter the game with via starting with Mudkip and the Gold/Silver Remake with Solo Tododile/Feraligator.
Fun fact, if it wasnt for that castform, you could beat the game with just mudkip registered in your pokedex by trading the Wynaut egg to a friend! It WOULD HAVE let you go through the entire ending cutscene with just one picture
Overall great video. Ive been waiting since the moment I finished the first one. I can't wait for the next installment in the series. Keep up the great work
Is it just me or is there an error in your editing where you show the glitchless pokemon count at times where you're trying to show the glitches included one? It's nothing big obviously but you can see it here 8:37 for example
I decided to just have the one list and show both glitch and glitchless rosters in it, with the glitchless extras in a different colour. It's just easier for my to track, and a fair amount less work too xD
I have considered doing them, but even considering the mainline games we're already looking at 15+ full games that I have to research and go through... For now I wanna focus just on the main games, but I'm definitely up to doing the spinoffs after I get done with these, especially with ZA coming around soon!
What if you did mor than just the mainline games? What about spin-offs? There ard Three games that Game Freak & the Pokemon Company might have considered Mainline that you're Dismissing, Like Legends Arceus.
I really appreciate you addressing a lot of the good points in the comments of the last vid, and having solid reasoning as to why it won't work. I sure hope stuff like trading does come in handy, like trading a HM slave over for a forced trade or something. Good to know you've got it all on your mind
Haha, nice. Yeah, your Sinnoh route was more efficient than mine, I forgot you could tweak to ride under Mr "There's a power outage!!!" and skip Mt Cornet that way. I forgot just how many times the game forces you to get pokemon for double or triple battles.
Funfact: There is a way to not catch Reshiram in Pokémon black and it instead be waiting in the dragon spiral tower after you became champion. But to achieve this you party and all of your PC boxes have to be full...
@@RealLifeTutorial Also, if the battles are too difficult, you can get multiple copies of your starter by breeding, allowing you to EV train without spending EVs on random trainers
I don't think this would have helped with anything yet, but trading could help avoid needing more pokemon for HMs. If you only need Cut at the start of the game and Surf at the end, and no starter gets both, you could pick a starter that learns Cut and trade it for a pokemon that learns Surf later on (if the game lets you, I think some of them require you have more than one pokemon to trade).
I can't say for sure yet as I haven't done a lot of the next part yet, but if my planning is correct, that might come into play sooner rather than later...
@@RealLifeTutorial gen 5 is the last gen where game completion is required to transfer up from old gens, and gen 6 is the last gen with HMs, so it becomes a question of out of all the pokemon from gen 5, which ones put together can clear the HMs in kalos and oras hoenn? i say out of gen 5 because, even though you have game completion in gens 3 and 4, you need 6 pokemon to do a transfer with pal park or poke transfer, which thankfully isnt the case for poke transporter, so we have serperior, reshiram, samurott, and three effectively filler slots to work with, since you can use any of the other available pokemon instead (not many options for replacing simipour, but youd have plenty for unfezant and krookodile)
Too bad I never chose them so while you can ONLY Solo the Gold/Silver REMAKES with choosing Totodile at the start I'll still choose Cynaquil as for Mudkip I still prefer the Torchic as the best starter in the Gen 3 games.
Honestly I don't really wanna share the amount of times I had to remind myself that Togepi's a generation II Pokémon as I made this video... I think what trips me up the most is how closely it is tied with Misty in the anime.
Really odd Team Galactic is against a 2 on 1 Pokemon but that makes little sense in-game why would the villains be against it when they're trying to create a new world & destroy this one
Yes, I didn't mention it in the first go around to not spoil one of the roadblocks that show up later on! But I specifically caught Bronzong cause it's one of the Pokémon available in that area that can learn one of the HMs, Strength in this case.
you need to hack the games to truly do this for example give your self a craby in gen 1 and its your only pokemon that would be truly doing the challange
For future videos I think it would be good to have a separate count for with or without glitches. Also, BW and BW2 are more than different enough that they ought to both be included! Sinnoh games are notorious for requiring a lot of HMs, but Empoleon can use all except Fly... unfortunately, I'm pretty sure climbing Mt. Coronet for the final Team Galactic confrontation still requires at least 5 of them in one go. I think Togepi gets forced on you again in Platinum, and there's a Happiny egg in DP that might or might not be required, but both learn at least one required HM to pick up the slack for Empoleon. So DPPt are at a solid - and surprisingly low - 2 Pokemon required without glitches. (And probably only one with them, since the void glitch is so broken and all.) HGSS have some slight differences from Silver... While they do let Feraligatr learn all the required HMs, they give you both that same Togepi once again *and* a gift Dratini from the Dragon's Den, which I'm pretty sure is forced if you don't have a full party. So it evens out to three, same as Gold and Silver. (Though still better than Crystal, which with that same Dratini would have 4.) BW tries to persuade you to pick up a gift monkey before the first gym, but you can also just... not do that. And since Cut is the only HM that's actually necessary, it can be soloed with either Snivy or Oshawott... up until you're forced to catch the box legendary right at the very end. So the real total will be two. For BW2 I'm not sure what HMs are strictly necessary, but Samurott can learn all of them except for Fly, so... once again water-type-starter sweep? Unless you're forced to take Zorua, catch a legendary, or use all five HMs to get through a single area, it'll be one. Could be two or three depending on those other factors, but my lack of knowledge on this game has confounded me. For XY, Froakie can once again learn all the required HM moves, and there are even few enough to fit in one single moveset. But, a Kanto starter is given to you with no way around it, along with once again being forced to catch the box legend to progress. You can actually turn down the gift Lucario though, so three should be it! ORAS should be mostly the same as RSE, except that they give you two legendaries (Latias/Latios and Kyogre/Groudon depending on your version), so the total goes up to four. If you want to complete the post-game Delta Episode, it's five with Rayquaza. And then after that HMs become a non-issue, but there's still more forced gift Pokemon and legendary captures. Sun and Moon have the starters and box legend which adds up to two, but USUM add a Poipole for three. SWSH make you catch Eternatus, so that's two in total as well. I've never played SV and have absolutely no idea what's required, if there's any weird checks or if you get the box legend before or after beating the game, so can't weigh in on that. So at a glance, it looks like BW2 are the only games with a chance of doing a true glitchless solo run. I've likely missed a lot in this analysis, but here's hoping it pans out!
