Yup, that's a full squat. I am so envious. I have to use an empty bar (an empty STANDARD bar). There's just something about that full stretch of the muscles in the ass to grass position. But it could also be that I'm 80. I'm going to try what you show without standing full upright. Just bounce off the bottom up to (or maybe above) the sticking point as you did.

I believe that is Eccentric Shoulder Internal Rotation. Yes you are going into External Rotation, you are decelerating/controlling the weight with your Internal Rotators.

Thank you for the tutorial! I am watching this because a friend and I were trying new back workouts since I do not know many and while doing this one a guy who was talking to 2 younger kids pointed at us and said "see that what they are doing is working nothing and it doesn't do anything" i wanted to talk to him about why but he was proccupied for the remainder of the time. Is it kind of a d move to call us out when we were 5 ft away from him but not tell us why? I appreciate constructive criticism but not whatever that was, it killed the mood for the rest of our workout because he was just watching us to make an example out of again (which he found nothing else to say). Watching this video it looks like we were doing it correctly, so thank you for posting this so we could check with our form!
