Welcome to the HandyMandarin channel. Here we showcase our deep understanding of Chinese language study, especially how understanding Chinese logic can quickly “unlock” Mandarin Chinese grammar, allowing you to freely create your own precise expressions.
Our videos are all taken from our systematic Communication Chinese program, taught both in our MasterChina Chinese Language academy (founded in Shanghai in 2005) and online via our subsidiary HandyMandarin. By breaking away from the traditional method of teaching Mandarin, we have created, and perfected, our own unique training system, methodology and study materials, which together quickly develop practical communication skills.
Please enjoy, learn and question using this channel, and if you are interested in personal instruction, including comprehensive grammar, reading, writing and listening exercises then please contact us at info@handymandarin.com or visit our website www.handymandarin.com.
As 华裔 living in 美国, who grew up speaking mostly English, these videos are very useful in helping me to relearn Mandarin. I took lessons as a child and have recently been taking online lessons again but limited time for review has made fluency difficult to achieve. I think I hover somewhere in the HSK 2 level and am trying to break through the wall to more natural conversation. My instructor recently recommended that I watch clips from 非正式会谈. In the process, I discovered your channel. I enjoy the way you systematically break down the conversations and include the cultural context for idioms. Subscribed! I hope you continue with this highly educational series!
As Chinese, I know this poem very well by blood. However, "Knowing is one thing, Doing is another." According to Darwin Evolution theory, that's not how it happens in today's world. Does Elon Musk follow this Chinese ancient poem doing the kind deeds?? OR, he is busy building up his kingdom/his dreams and ask others to do the dirty work?
Thanks! I agree Mandarin sentence structure is very logical and simple in a good way, being quite efficient and eliminating extraneous word types that I'm sure English learners must contend with learning it as a 2nd language.
Thank you so much ❤️ 😊 honestly it's very interesting, useful and practical as well, I definitely picked up many remarkable things from your speech, hopefully, you will put in more and more spectacular videos like it 🥰🥰 I love it
I'm so grateful for this videos! You make complicated things so easy to understand, one video is like going 10 hours to an academy. I can't explain how grateful I am! Thank you for being so amazing and hardworking! ❤️ Thank you so much! 🥺
Yes, this is a complicated work even though we just transfer the class in our classroom to online . :-) We are very happy to support learners out of China, like you.
Hello, I wanna ask when new HSK in July implemented, and whether the new HSK book will also be published ? In July or perhaps in next year ? And Whether the new HSK book will be divided into several sections such as Chinese characters book, vocabulary book and grammar book ? Thank you
The publishing houses said in the conference that they had invited experts to write these books, according to this standard. According to our experience, they will publish vocabulary books first. All required characters are included. Required grammars usually mix with Simulated Tests books. These books will be launched after the HSK Test Center announces the official sample paper.
Where are the communication skills ? Have the books changed - if I have books 1-6 do I need to change them ?it doesn’t mention if we need to change books and where the communication parts are - the books I have don’t have these
Hey... thanks for the video. I have a question to ask. Right now i just finished taking the HSK 4 test, and i am planning to study hsk 5. Do you think i should start all over again from new hsk 1 or should i study the old hsk 5? Because right now the study material for the new HSK is very minimum so it is kinda hard for me to study. Thanks
Yes, the new HSK will continue handwritten as well as computer track. We got official explanation last week and will share all official voice here soon. You will hear more details.
@@moc2130 Sure. It is a series original course made by our teaching team. We have lots of analysis of this program, from our language teaching perspective. All our courses follow the core principle: explaining Chinese logic in sentence structure and communications. This is the most efficient way to make progress. All students in our school in Shanghai like it very much. This one is just a trial here, we want to get more feed back. This won't be the last one. :-) Thanks lot for your nice words. All our efforts have been worth it.
Very pleased to hear your opinion. I should thank all my previous students. Their confusion with traditional teaching inspired me to create my method and materials. If teaching only explains academic knowledge, students are stuck with the textbook. There is a Chinese saying, " Teaching people fishing is much valuable than giving people fish directly." I prefer to give my students the best tools and then they create their own expressions freely. With my tools, my students can handle any situation well themselves. This is my hope. I will continue my work on RU-vid. Hope to hear more opinion from you.
Hi, I wanna ask, right now I'm progress learning HSK 1 but when new HSK standard official implemented in 1 July, should i'm take course again from level 1 again following the new standard ? 谢谢
Needn't. You can continue your current plan. I just got the latest news in a national conference in Beijing this Tuesday. All experts in this conference attended creating HSK tests. I will share their plan clearly in a new video soon. This is the first hand explanation from official voice.
I just attended a national conference in Beijing this Tuesday. It was organized the HSK examination center. All experts in this conference attended creating HSK tests. I will share my experience in a new video soon.
If you still take the current HSK paper, the standard is same. But, if you choose new HSK paper, you need 2245 words in total for HSK 3 and 3245 words for HSK4. I need remind you that in new HSK, HSK 3 is elementary level and HSK 4 is intermediate level. It means two paper will be quite different. Why you have two options in September? Because in last change in 2009, a six-month-period was set for students to adapt to new paper. During that period, students can choose either paper from two options. So, we think this time, the operation might be done again. We are still waiting for the official announcement. We will update video as soon as we get latest news.
I'm apparently at level two. kindly in need of your advice on how I can pass HSK 3 before the new curriculum sets off. In other words, what should I do to pass HSK 3 before July 1st. Thank you so much.
In current HSK, the biggest difference between Level 2 and Level 3 is that Level 3 requires Chinese characters, but Level 2 doesn't. If all questions are in characters without Pinyin, you must speed up your reading and understanding. Actually, Level 2 and Level 3 test similar grammars and vocabulary. Although Level 3 has more questions, the exam time has been extended. We have calculated the same amount of time is set for each question in Level 2 and Level 3. But lots of students fail in Level 3 because they cannot finish all questions on time. Reading characters slows down their reading speed greatly. So, your primary task is to speed up characters reading. You must get meaning as soon as you read the characters. Imagine, if you read one question in characters and think about its meaning for 2 or 3 minutes, then answer. How can you finish the test paper one time? How to improve reading comprehension is the biggest challenge for all Level 3 students. Ah, one more remind is, unlike English sentence, there is no space between two words in Chinese sentence. It also affect your reading speed. Memorizing vocabulary and recognize them in sentences is the key solution. Good lcuk!
You can continue your plan. Your certificate is official, so it is accepted by all official institutions any time. People who don't work in Chinese language education have no sense about the difference between new and current HSK. Don't worry. Wish you achieve your aim!
