Very heartfelt story. I it amazing the human can have this idea of alien from another world. Can blend in enough they can be called friends or family. But here on earth someone from another country have no interest become like family!

Gen X here, people of my generation look down on later generations. They work, they work hard. They want the same things we've worked for all our lives.

"thinking like a survivor" wrong. They were thinking like a settler, a colonist. A survivor goes in to survive... with the expectation that they will be rescued, that help will come. A colonist, a settler hits the ground thinking, this is where i will be living now... what resources do i have, what do i need to build. what do i need to farm, to hunt... The settler hits there expecting they will be there for a long time, maybe forever without help. HOW you approach things will be the difference... A person looking to survive will last a few days, a person looking to colonize, to make the land theirs... can last years.

Alone is a tv series right now, where people are taken, and "dumped" in the 'REAL' wild. not some stage, or staged location, no, they are dumped on BC islands, Alaska wildernenss, Great Slave Lake, or worse. They are given basic survive items. often just 10 items to choose from to survive. and left there. some last less then a day, tapping out because of bears or wolves... others can't find food and tap out for starvation... others from injury... having to be flown out for emergancies.. but some last not days, not weeks, but MONTHS... living on their own in the wild, hunting, building a cabin, setting traps... building furniture... they compete for a prize of half a million dollars. 10-12 are dropped off scatterede around.. and the last one... surviving.. wins. the 1 million dollar challange on great slave lake. contestant lasted 100 days and could have gone on longer...
You know...this is actually a pretty darn good example of what humans really are like. We'll make do with what we've got one way or another. Thanks for the story.
I'm shure the story is good, but the guy reading, or the AI is shit. It's like a toddler with deep voice. No affection. The story is not good, it's like bits and pieces I've read before. But with a lot of sweetening words without structure. A lot of holes in the story.
The story is told in multiple ways without any transition. Between that and the rough narration his just isn't worth listening to. Sorry, try again please - you've got potential.
I like the strong work ethic and team work theme of this story. I can relate, in my youth I prided myself in out working or working others into the ground.
I have subscribed a bout 3 months ago. I like the them most of everyone tells a story about how the human race look for peace and love. It also shows some of earth history has always been love and peace are most important.
