Interesting video. I've been wondering about this myself. I regularly use red light therapy and have been looking into HBOT. As I understand it, red light can knock nitric oxide out of the mitochondria which allows oxygen to dock causing an increase in ATP. If that's correct, then I would think the increased oxygen concentration during or perhaps immediately after HBOT would potentially make oxygen more readily available to dock during a red light therapy session. I'd love to see some studies done on this.
@healthfitla

We love to see some studies on the combination too! So many variables to control for but anecdotally, we have seen the stack of these two modalities as beneficial for a number of our clients.

If you decrease the weight of the kettlebell or dumbbell you are holding on to, it helps make the exercise more difficult. This is because you have less weight to counterbalance with. For instance holding onto rather heavy like a couch or no weight at all... has a huge effect on the exercise. Hope that helps!

Hi, it actually seems like a forward trunk lean will be a little better for the front knee because the center of gravity is directly over the front ankle, rather than behind it--so the "moment arm" between the knee and the force vector is shorter. And the front glute gets a little more of a stretch so there is a little more stimulus to that muscle. Right? If I'm missing something, let me know! :)
@healthfitla
@healthfitla 17 дней назад
Great feedback Chrissie! In general, we advocate for a slight trunk lean where you are essentially parallel to the shin of the lead leg. Yes you can definitely lean forward more to get more glute activity, but often times we see clients compensate by excessively sheering there lead knee forward, which leads to less load sharing during the squat movement. Everyone's body is a bit different, and it's great to individualize the exercise to the person and what you are trying to target. Thank you for you the comment!

My natural medicine practice began after graduation from chiropractic school in 1977; acupuncture was added in 2000 along with functional and environmental medicine. After discovering HBOT recently, this amazing tech was also added to the menu. Having a chamber in my home office, I can use it on a regular basis, and after learning about the myriad of benefits for age-related illness, my older patients can also use it, or purchase a chamber for their home, which is what I recommend. Should I use a soft chamber or a hard chamber for HBOT? I’m going into cosmetic surgery this week and I’m not sure what’s better?
@healthfitla
@healthfitla Месяц назад
If you have access to a hard chamber which are a bit more from a price standpoint, it packs more healing power... also depends how you tolerate the higher pressures as well. On the flip side, we've also seen some incredible results with our soft chambers too! Need to keep the frequency up too in order to obtain the cumulative effect... just like working out :)

Ideally, it depends on what your doctor recommends. You will experience similar results from either chamber, but if you are looking for faster results then a hard chamber would be ideal.

My chiropractor has a Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, but my chiropractor won't let me get in it even though I've gotten clearance from my Dr. They're worried because I'm chronically on a home ventilation, with a trach that is connected to a portable ventilator. They're worried about putting me in, and doing a treatment on me. So I had to abandon the whole idea. I'm terminally ill, have neurogenic bladder, have many neurological conditions, have to be catheterized because of neurogenic bladder, have heart problems, have neuromuscular weakness, and many many other conditions, and I just thought this might help me, but the Chiropractor isn't even thinking about letting me try it. So I had to give up the idea!

Can Structural scoliosis be cured?
@healthfitla
@healthfitla Месяц назад
This is a difficult question. It also depends on your definition of "cured". In general, effective physical therapy and chiropractic treatment for structural scoliosis can be aimed at regaining symmetry even though it will probably never get there, regardless if you have scoliosis or not. With these changes, certain muscles can get tight further pulling you into these compensatory strategies. At the same time, the muscles on the opposite side can get lengthened and weak. It's really about starting with a comprehensive history and examination to help determine a proper course of action. We have helped many individuals with structural scoliosis decrease their pain and regain and optimize their function.

@@healthfitla Just fyi, I experienced an ulcerative colitis flare earlier this year. I did 12 hyperbaric oxygen treatments at 2 atm. The treatments improved my symptoms, but they weren't powerful enough for me to escape my flare, and when I stopped the treatments, I continued to deteriorate. Thankfully, prednisone and mesalamine enemas got me out of my flare. -I think I made two mistakes with my hyperbaric oxygen treatments: Mistake #1: I didn't do enough treatments. Mistake #2: I should have used mesalamine enemas at the same time as the hyperbaric oxygen treatments. Treating a wound locally in addition to hyperbaric oxygen is best. -Thanks for helping people with hyperbaric oxygen treatments!

Great question! Often times, one of the culprits when it comes to shoulder pain is a lack of shoulder blade stability. If you imagine rounding your shoulders forward and then bringing your arms overhead, this can lead to some type of pressure or pinching at the front of your shoulders. When you slightly squeeze the shoulder blades back to create "better posture" ... if often decreases the amount of pain.

Yes, HBOT “works” with vascular issues and strokes. It doesn’t make you feel 100% but I’ve seen stroke patients not be able to talk to being able to have some mobility, and slurred speech even after 2 years of having the stroke. HBOT is also seen to promote neovascularization.
