haha...I'm surprised my builds work. Besides a few bumps along the learning curve, I've been happy with them. And my neighbor gives them all pretty good workouts, reviews, and grades. Maybe one day you could do a build!? It's not for everyone, but it's a rewarding endeavor. Especially putting in different pickups and mixing things up a bit.
lol no, the Charvel neck on this is very similar to my Ultra Strat and my Luxe Tele. The reason I got another one of these DKs first was for the ebony fretboard with the caramelized maple neck, I knew I’d like the feel of the neck, and I wanted that Seymour Duncan humbucker for my heavier stuff, although it sounds great clean too. At last - someone who can play a nice slow solo which sounds great - as opposed to the shredders who think fast is bests! I'm considering one of these beasts because I want the playability of a strat with a smaller acoustic body... but I'm worried about the battery life of the silver oxide cells...? PS - it sounded pretty damned good to me!
hmmm, the battery...I haven't changed it once in a year..I am not sure it even has a battery. Ibanez ALT 30(look it up), will play like your strat! Has electric ergonomics, plays real sweet. Do you still love the Ultra Luxe Floyd Rose HSS after the last 2 years? I am thinking of trading in my Strandberg Boden for one as I got to try one and the D shape neck felt very comfortable to me. I am just not sure how good the pickups are seemed ok but won't be able to tell until I get to play it on my current rig.
I think the pups are fantastic, the noiseless single coils are "hot" by comparison to other Fenders like my Ultra, It is very versatile for everything from country and blues to metal. Stainless frets, compound radius...and YOU PLAYED ONE! I love mine, ended up getting the Tele cousin Ultra LUXE HH which is my number one. Not really, I would say it is closer to My 60s Gibson LPs and less chunky than the 50s LPs which are quite chunky as it gets from my exp...soo, no, not chunky but not thin either.. like an Ibanez or Jackson...its a nice middle of the road I'd say :-)
That was when we lived in Naylor/Lakeland Ga. 11+ years ago..we were trying out the singer....but yeah they were all decent...we live 3+ hours from there...that was my two car metal garage...lol...served the purpose...the idea was to play out but that singer didn't work out, and we never got it off the ground but had some great jam sessions

And in response to your description of your recording process 'leaving a lot to be desired'. I know you have recording gear and was simply thinking "why is he playing to backing tracks on-line (?) when he could be pulling together more of his own songs!? Like your Astronaut Story". I feel your frustration of trying to find someone to sing or play with. And songs come primarily from emotions and a desire to put them into words/music. A lot of people simply don't have the drive or time to do it. Have you tried singing!? You may surprise yourself. What happened to K Ansley? But your instrumental stuff is phenomenal by itself too. Hopefully you can find someone either nearby or via the internet to work with, if that's what you're hoping. But a lot of people nowadays are simply writing and producing their own stuff at home. Similar to this discussion, we chatted six months ago in Comments under your Astronaut Story. You have SO much talent and imagination, and in different genres/styles to boot!!! Well, WB Sir, your two top fans listened a few times. Our epiphany was, we simply have different editing and video production styles. 🤔 When your last note is done, you’re done. Whereas I try to let the last note or chord fully ring out and into a few seconds of silence. Dug the green laser 👍and it got me thinking of upping my lighting game. What happens is ...the backing track eventually ends lol, so I stop the vid just prior to that happeneing usually...Which then makes it seem to or actually does cut it short, abrupt...but it would be the exact same thing a few seconds later...but by the track ending it instead of the moment I choose...I am never monitoring for it to end..here's a perfect example...notice the end please...I tried several times to explain but ...apparently I am just not good at explaining....see the end of this and hopefully you get it then... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GIiinfUaaTc.html

Yep, watched your video earlier. LOL Your explaining is just fine! It took me awhile to fully understand all the details of what you're working with. I spend waaaaay more time in editing my videos. I'm fairly new to all this stuff. And learned there are a LOT of variables and snags with all this technology and gear. So, I started eliminating the snags and work arounds that frustrate me. I got tired of all the commercials on the free RU-vid, so signed up for Premium. No more commercials! Bought a drum machine. And then realized I needed a volume pedal to bring the drums in and out with my guitar. I got a loop station. Audio Interface, etc. Basic video editing program. Remote control for my phone. Camcorder and remote. I make my build videos too which require a lot of editing. And being a spaz on guitar, I do quite a few takes until something sounds tolerable. Then toss in some visuals, title and ending pages, etc. I think I mentioned in the past, I'm retired so have time to monkey around with it all. When my neighbor comes over to noodle/jam, I just let the camcorder or phone record the whole time. Sometimes 2-3 hours. And happy to catch a few minutes of good stuff. Anyhoo, there must be some good websites to get backing tracks without commercials.🤔 I signed up for Tim Pierce's on-line lessons for me and the lady. Members can participate in live interactive videos with him on most Saturdays where he analyzes different guitarist's methods. And he posts them (link below). Haven't used them, but it appears he's got backing tracks too. My Guitar-Pro program / website offers tablature and notation for thousands of songs, and I believe backing tracks. Pretty much sir. It is "the one" along with the Gibson Standard. The Ultra Luxe Tele is up there but if I could only keep 2, the Ultra and the Standard.
You can do it, White Beard! LOL. It takes a little practice. I always have to remind myself to wait a few seconds AFTER I finish talking or playing. Let the notes ring out ALL the WAY. Silence for a few seconds, then hit the stop button. We'll be monitoring your progress...and success!😁
@@PaullysGuitar I stop it abruptly for the reason I stated...sometimes the very next thing that is going to play I don't like, but everything up to that point sounded great to me lol. ERRRRRRP stop abrupt..So the practice I need is to never play anything I don't like or want people to witness lol...not what you're suggesting. So until I am flawless...an occaisional abrupt stop is going to happen, although you have made me aware of it and I will try to do less abrupt stops lol... Peace
