We address issues that matter to the world and that others may consider impossible to solve. Our campus is our capital city, but our state of mind can be achieved anywhere.
I was fortunate enough to go to a high school in Philly that had a full on robotics lab, going back to the nineties. Where a lot of US schools have seemingly done away with process oriented programs like shop, tech, home economics, etc, I think that was a big mistake. Learning how to conceptually diagram an idea, convert that diagram into a process, learn to use the correct tools to achieve that process, then iterative process improvement to reduce cost and increase efficiency....what I'm saying is that type of learning should be pushed more rather than the unpopular 4year university tract. And Home Economics was an incredibly important course - it seems to be politically disliked at this point, but teaching young people how to function via home maintenance, insurance skills, auditing, etc is and will always be highly important. The US needs stronger support for trade learning.

Hello! You can apply to our master's programmes in either early or regular admission. Early admission will start on 1 October and end on 15 October 2024, and regular admission will take place between 1 December 2024 and 22 January 2025. I am from Sri Lanka. I am currently following a Higher National Diploma which equal to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ level 6) / Sri Lanka Qualification Framework Level 5 (SLQF level 5) It include minimum 120 credits which is equal to 3000 notional hours. (1 credit is equal to 25 notional hours which include class room lectures, tutorials, assignments, projects, mini research , self study with "industrial training period of 9 months") This programme is gonna end in october 2024 I would like to know if I will be able to enrol for batcholer programme related to food science/ food technology programme in 2024 or 2025 ? I will appreciate for any comment from LUT university
Harkitsin, mutta melkein peräännyn, kun kuuntelin tämä pätkän. Kuulostaa juuri siltä, että LUT:ssa ei ole harmainta hajua, mitä yhteiskuntatieteet ovat. Kommentit pyöritteliät yhtä samaa teemaa: yhteiskuntatieteiden osaaminen voisi vahvistaa kaupallis-teknistä puolta - no, haloo, jos joku haluaa opiskella yhteiskuntatieteitä, niin silloin hän haluaa opiskella yhteiskuntatieteitä eikä mitään kaupallis-teknistä tukitoiminnetta. Epämääräinen ilmastonmuutoksen ja "näiden meidän nykyisten haasteiden" toistelu antoi kyllä vaan kuvan, että tässä ollaan ihan kujalla. Olisi kiva tietää vuoden jälkeen opiskelijoiden kokemuksia. Irtoaako sieltä tässä vaiheessa ensimmäistäkään oikeaa ajatusta miksi yhteiskuntatieteiden opiskelu LUT:ssa kannattaisi.
