Check out the Live version of "Everything" I posted from Regis and Kathi Lee. It was during her run on Broadway. The great thing about Jody is she has taken her classics later and done some classy funky re-works w real instruments horns guitars. This really is a great dance track by the legend Bernard Edwards of CHIC!
I loved Shalamar & she definitely was the voice of the group. When they split up & Jodi went solo, as much as I liked her & in my opinion, the quality just wasn't there in the music to launch her into a successful career of her own. Don't hate me Jodi fans but I think the record companies probably had other things on their minds at the time or maybe she just had the wrong producer or writers or just musical differences. Good to see this though.
This is a great find. Never seen this before. We missed out on so many tv show clips like this living in the uk. Thanks to RU-vid it's all very different now. I've been a huge fan of Natalie Cole ever since 'This will be' came out, she had such an amazing voice. I like the occasional Whitney song but this duet should have been recorded properly & released as a single 'cos it's got number one, here we come, shouting out of my tv screen at me!
Wonderful to see these two icons together at the time of the 'Bulletproof Heart' album. I love their gutsy, just don't care, attitudes. I never knew she stabbed one of her boyfriends though. I must get reading her memoirs!
That is like still 1 of her best non-dancing performances ...she showed the non-believers her vocal chops on this 1. Love me some Jody Watley still until this day💐✨👑❤🖤💚💛💜🙏🏾
This is the kind of song that is written for and because of someone. And like all good love stories, successful or not, it makes you wonder who and what. But everything you really need to know is in the lyrics, isn't it?
Interesting her talking about every time she goes to Jamaica negative stuff happens, because in her concert recently she talked about going to Jamaica and got stuck there because covid-19 happened and the travel shutdown.
FIRST, I have never in my life(!) heard anyone start Say A Little Prayer the way Whitney did (oh my goodness!!!). Second, this interview was so warm and sincere and full of love. Thank you for sharing this!!!
This clip brings back great memories of these legendary women of song. Natalie and Whitney were/are 2 of my favorite vocalist of all time. May they both rest in peace 🙏🏽.
