Yay 35 libreyi 28 inç'te mi veriyor? Kore yayları 31 inç'te ölçülür mesela. 35 lbs 28 inç (71 cm) çekişteki kuvveti ise, yayın boyuna bağlı olarak 28-29 arasında 2 veya 3 lbs, 29-30 arasında 3 lbs artar. Kırım Tatar gibi uzunca bir yay ise 40 lbs, daha kısa bir Osmanlı yayı ise 41lbs verir.
Asıl çapa aslında sırttaki kas ve kemiklerin belli bir konfigürasyonda yerleşmesi. Mandalın yüze yapışması şart değil, ama kesinlikle yakın olmalı. Uzaktan çekişe "açık kestirme" denirdi ve istenmeyen bir şey olduğu açıkça yazılmıştır.

I don't see any practical reason to shoot past 50 yards sense with an overdraw it is harder for me past that hahaha. I just wanted to get your opinion on it. @@JeffOzepy The main goal of this device is aavoiding the enemy to shoot your ammo back to you. Therefore these arrows could have been shot at a mass of people from longer distances where no pinpoint accuracy is needed.

@@abdulkabza aynen hocam. ve de daha 50-60 sene önce yazılmış kurgu eserlerden gelen yazınları da gerçek sanıyor üstelik aynı tayfa. daha roman senaryosuyla gerçek vakanın ayırdında bile değiller. Ama rahatlıkla önlerine gelene hain veya türk düşmanı yaftası vurabiliyorlar.

Geleneksel yay diyerek kastettiğiniz modern av recurve'leri ise, alüminyum oku tercih edin derim. Türk yay ailesinden bir geleneksel yay kullanıyorsanız aslında en güzeli ahşap ok kullanmak.
As a practicioner of KTA. It seems to me that khatra replicates the conveniences of a center shot bow, allowing for stiffer spines. When you have a centershot bow with a stiffer spine arrow, the arrow oscillates less, which means less energy was transferred to deformation of the arrow and more to speed of the arrow, explaining the increase in speed. Think of shooting a spring vs shooting a straight stick. KTA archers will even use khatra to change their left to right impact. What a thought-provoking video you have posted.

May I ask how the bows were measured, 28 inches from the belly of the handl or from back of the handl or IAW AMO standart ( distance from Pivot Point from belly side of the bow, + 1,75" ) , in bows description I found it's quite unclear how far is safety to draw , in relation to which standard?

The issue with historically correct bows is that they were made for shorter people, assuming the 16th century Turk was shorter than modern. So me being 5'11" (180 cm), surely I would need an upscaled Turkish bow if I wanted the same experience and using the same technique?
It is an urban myth that the typical Turkish bow was short! Kâtip Abdullah Çelebi gives the dimensions of bows in his book written in the 17th century. In the Topkapı Palace Museum's collection the longest bow is 135cm-long. It would comfortably been drawn to 30 inches, I think. And for taller people who draw longer there were Crimean Tatar bows some of which were very long according to the same source.
@@abdulkabza Yeah I can imagine that an army had people of all sizes and so bowyers would then have to make different sized bows. Maybe only if you were rich enough for a custom one.
@@mccarthy86 I think that longer bows re norm in armies. That's why in European collections, mainly the booties taken after the II. Siege of Vienna, there are numerous Crimean Tatar bows.

Her türlü araç-gereç, tornavidasından yemek bıçağına kadar, fırlatılabilir. Biraz tecrübeyle en uygun/rahat denge merkezi tespit edilebilir. Ben piyasadan aldığım bir fırlatma bıçağının sapından 4-5 mm keserek daha rahat ettiğim hale getirmiştim.

Hi! I can speak about the brands and models I and my crew have tested. You may find all the test videos on this channel in order to compare the harvested data of enery storage and transfer. Similarity to the authentic design is a qualitative parameter unlike the others that are objective, however we evaluate the bows qualitatively too and similarity wth the original design is one of the parameters that we evauate and give scores for. In most of the laminated bows it isn't easy to mae the kaan section of the Turkish bow and it is missing in high-quality laminated bows of Turkish bowyers like that of Keskin. Grozer biocompostie is a laminated bow that looks very authentic thanks to the kasan section. To my est knowledge there are only Grozer's biocomposite and Nawalny's Turkish bow that are laminated (with high enery efficiency) and have this kasan secton, hence better authenticity in appearence. Şimşek makes all-resin bows that are more look-alikes and have very high enery-efficiencies for bows of this material. we have been using Keskin and Şimşek bows in our grroup. Earlier Gölhan bows sucked, were prone to twisting in hot weather but I don't know whether it was enhanced material-wise.

great video, what do you mean by energy efficiency of a bow? I have a buck trail hayk Crimean Tatar bow, from 40 pounds to 28 inches (I have a draw length about 32), with the chronograph I had similar results to the bow on the video with 32 gram arrows. I was wondering if there is a difference in efficiency or power between the two bows or if this similarity in performance is given by a higher draw length then a draw weight very close to this bow. I hope I explained myself as best as I could
Thank you! As you know bow is a machine that stores energy (in the form of potential energy) and converts it to kinetic energy. In given system the total amount of energy is preserved, so the potentia energy stored by the bow should be identical to the TOTAL kinetic energy that occurs when the string is released. However not all the stored energy can be used for the forward motion of the arrow and there are losses lke in any machine. Here the string's movement as well as elastic deformation, limbs' mass that is pushed forward, air drag of both limbs and string, friction between archer's hand (or thumbring) and string, internal friction inthe bow's limbs (varies depending on how long you wait at full draw) and of course the elastic deformation of the arrow shaft absorb some of the energy. So, the arrow velocity displayed on the chronograph gives the kinetic energy determined by the forward motion of the arrow. The ratio of the kinetic energy we calculate with these velocities to the stored energy gives the dynamic energy efficiency of the bow, i.e. how well it transfers the energy -with which ration. And calculating the potential energy of a drawn bow requires determining the force-draw curve and is calculated with integral. Epot is the surface underneath of the curve.
In order to compare the performances of these two bows test shots should be executed from the same draw length as well cause a longer drawn bow (32''' in your case) would store more energy (and pulls more than 40 pounds that it is measured at 28''). Other than that the "power stroke" (the way that the arrow travels till it leaves the string is longer in your case. Therefore the identical velocity data does not reveal an identical efficiency of these two bows.
@@abdulkabza in the meantime, thanks for the comprehensive answers, in practice there is the difference between the pushing mass (the arrow) and the mass that acts as inertia (the bow) a bit like in cars that have suspended masses and unsprung masses to determine the speed of load transfers, braking, decelerations, shock absorption, etc. therefore also for this reason a bow can vary greatly by lengthening the draw length an inch more. i mean The same bow model with the same draw weight but one at 28 and the other at 32 will most show different energies and probably the one with the longest draw length will prevail where can I find the equation to calculate energy efficiency?
@@abdulkabza at 32 draw length if I remember correctly from the measurement I took it has about 47 lbs. marking a value of around 50 joules, I was using an arrow of just over 500 grains I made a video a while ago I noticed something interesting when comparing wooden bows and laminated bows, in a narrow range of pounds, they often have similar performances in terms of joule despite being very different in terms of materials I think it's because of what you told me above. mass of the bow potential energy etc
Vortex gaz pistonlu ve çok kuvveti bir tüfek, ama 80m'ye şaşırdığımı itiraf edeyim. Kafa atışlarında bu mesafede öldürücü olur herhalde ama destekli ve dürbünle bile 80m'den kafa atışı yapmak zor olmaz mı? Benim PCP'ler hariç havalı tüfekler için, yay pistonlularda 40, gaz pistonlularda 55-60m gibi bir tahminim var. Ama saha tecrübem yok.
