@@SmashupMashups Yes! I'm surprised that more games (kart racers especially) don't do stuff like that more often. Really cool and makes the game more unique.
@@naysgameopinions And just the return of the _Shrek_ stand-in voices, Michael Gough as Shrek; Dean Edwards as Donkey; Holly Fields as Princess Fiona, was quite nice. Especially how they interact with Puss in Boots, voiced by Eric Bauza, and Lord Farquaad, voiced by Poitr Michael. Now, Randall Duk Kim reprising his role as Oogway was a surprise, making him the only voice actor to reprise a character from the movies whereas every other character has a stand-in voice.
@@SmashupMashups Woah! Nice. I never took note of who was actually voice acting so that's nice to hear and definitely makes it feel that much more authentic, especially with Oogway.
I’m playing with my 7-year-old, and she really likes it. But, we’re on like level 35 and haven’t gotten the Panda yet. I don’t get it! I started my own profile, because I don’t feel like we’re going to get it for some odd reason. We have followed the story completely. We have had no issues with the game either? It’s so weird. I’ve tried to look up when the panda is supposed to be introduced, but it never says.
Yeah. It's pretty weird. So there's the original version of the game and then there's the "Panda Edition" which basically adds DLC-like panda "missions". You have to make it to the very end of the base game tasks and then the panda stuff will start. Just keep doing the tasks and level up and more stuff will unlock.
@@naysgameopinions Thanks. We definitely have the panda edition! We got all the new dogs and cats. And there is a locked photo on the wall of the panda we don’t have yet! It’s just super frustrating. But, I just keep pushing on. Lol
@@michiganmama562Yeah I now remember being in the same situation. Becuase it clearly ends and I was like wait...where are the pandas! And I just kept doing the tasks and you'll get the panda story eventually then after those missions it'll say that all of the tasks have been completed like at 10:25 in the video.
3.5 out of 10 for this game is quite an injustice. You are basically saying its on the level of The day before. Dont know wny many seem to hate on the game when it does so many things right than wrong especially for a new ip. They could build upon given the opportunity. At minimum imo its a 7 out of 10. 3.5 out of 10 is pretty wild and aligns with a game that is unplayable. Anyway good luck with your channel. I mean that.
Well, the way that I review, I take the entire review scale into consideration. A lot of reviews nowadays, everything is a 7 or 8 when that's simply not the case. Especially when compared to each other. I could play a game that is a 1 out of 10 and still have fun with it. If a game is practically unplayable, then i would probably rate it lower because I think thats an injustice to push out a game that people pay for and it doesnt work. Right off the bat, the way I look at it is that a 5/10 is right in the middle. And the experience I received from this game is lesser. So then I'm working on that 1-5. Mix that in with the bad story, dialogue delivery, character interactions, boring world, poorly designed missions, etc...it definitely knocks it down. Good looking environment and cool powers doesn't save this game for me. Personally, I think there is more wrong than right here with this game, but to each their own. That's why there are reviews and every review is different. Appreciate your time and comment.
The powers of controlling moths in Broken Porcelain is a direct reference to Dario Argento's Phenomena (my favourite movie of his), which of course was a giant influence of the very first Clock Tower game, to the point I consider it an unofficial adaptation of Phenomena. It's good the nods to this film have carried over the entire séries, up to Remothered.
Nice! Definitely need to check it out then. I was aware of what influenced the Remothered series but never thought to look into what influenced the influences that could have bled through to these games. 🤔
@@naysgameopinions Dario Argento is one of my favourite horror director ever and Clock Tower being initially an hommage to his work (mostly Phenomena but with references to Suspiria as well) is what got me into this series. I would definitely recommand to check it out indeed, and on the giallo genre in général (from Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Lucie Fulci, etc). I like to consider the Clock Tower (Haunting Ground included) and Remothered series as the video game legacy of this genre.
@shibitoobscura3348 oooooh! I've definitely seen Phenomena before. Going to go diving into some movies now. Thanks for the recommendation. And Haunting Ground is one of my favorites!
@@naysgameopinions Great! Yes, it's one of my favourite too (I still have a soft spot for Rule of Rose, my all-time favourite PS2 horror game, but Haunting Ground was a blast, and a major improvement from Clock Tower 3)
It's definitely bizarre, but sort of mellows out...and gets bizarre again. It's like it was produced by two different teams and then stitched together.
I agree with pretty much this whole video. I however am enjoying it more than you did But you're not wrong, the story isn't that engrossing, voice acting can be decent to terrible and the animations and cutscenes are just cringy with how bad they are I also feel like the controls aren't even as polished as the last three games even though this is running off of the same engine and control scheme mostly Parkour seems janky, combat isn't very fun and while I get they wanted you to focus more on stealth, make the combat challenging in a way where I prefer not to engage with it if possible. Don't just make it suck Mapping the assassination button to the same as your light attack button is terrible because the context for an assassination sometimes gets finicky and quickly disappears and then you end up striking your target and alerting everybody in view. But man, I love this setting, I think this city is awesome it feels fun to explore and kind of exist in. Collecting things and getting into trouble feels more enticing to me than it has since the earlier games in the franchise. I think I would give this one like a 6.5 if I was trying to rank it without too much bias. But I'm enjoying it as if it were more of a 7.5 lol
I’m amazed this game is charging a price. I like the glossy aesthetic, but I’m surprised it didn’t lean more into the battle pass/fortnite model. Can’t help but feel like this is a poor Splatoon copy.
Is this that switch game? Ive passed this over a bunch of times and will now finally pick it up because of this review..subbed I like your chilled out delivery 👍👍
It is kind of..."different". I felt the same way and just sort of went for it and had an enjoyable time. The second game was so bad that the third game is basically canceled. There's some concept art and the main plot of the story for the third one is out there. There was also a 2D Remothered game that was canceled in 2012. After I finished the second game, I looked into the history of the games and it's actually pretty interesting. "Remothered" has different words in it like mother, moth, and red that all sort of deal with the story. I thought that was neat.
Bamtang and Gamemill Entertainment should've given it crossplay. The online is dead. At least KartRider: Drift and Disney Speedstorm have crossplay. They also get dlc every 2-3 months. Gamemill and Bamtang need to take lessons from Gameloft and Nexon. Since Bamtang Games did 3 Nickelodeon Kart Racing games, I can see them doing the same for Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing.
3:56 I agree that combat doesn't really get to shine until you're playing as Red in the warehouse, and there he doesn't have the corner gun (although he has aggressive abilities anyways), but I guess it's better in the end wanting more of something than getting tired of it
Loved this game. Yet my series S crashes constantly to home. I luckily missed out on some of the other major bugs. The crashes just break my immersion trance.
Geeeez. Yeah that's annoying. Remedy games usually have a bunch of stuff like that. I remember Control having a lot too. I was going to post some of the bugs I had as shorts but accidently deleted all my Alan Wake 2 footage. 🫠 Oh well.
Alan Wake 2 is a larger, more ambitious, and deeper sequel to the foundation laid by Alan Wake 1. The narrative has greater depth, involving a more extensive cast of characters. The seamless integration of gameplay, music, and live-action film creates a beautifully intertwined and coherent whole. Survival horror suits the game better than the horror action of the first installment. Unfortunately, the shift to survival horror has taken a few steps back in terms of gameplay. In Alan Wake, the world felt like a vast, interconnected area that could exist as a genuine environment beyond a game setting. In Alan Wake 2, the areas seem more like distinct "levels" with a straightforward path from A to B, and the regions appear detached from one another. Additionally, I miss how in Alan Wake 1, the sky would turn black and stormy before the appearance of enemies, and the player would engage not only with human adversaries but also with animated machines or objects.
100% agree. Well said. Alan Wake 1 was supposed to be open-world before they scaled it back and if you go into a free camera mode, you can see how everything is actually connected. I mention something similar in my "The Chant" review because I had that same feeling you are describing when I was playing that. The world just feels better if everything is connected in that way. It is a bummer that this game isn't designed like that, but I don't think it hinders it in any way. Maybe one day, one of their games will be more open like that. I also like the sky turning black and fighting off objects. Definitely helped the environmental storytelling and the chaos and threat you were up against. Added variety and it's an easy way to add some puzzles and invasive situations in your path. Again...not a thing I missed completely, but would've been fully welcomed. I guess moving to survival horror just didn't really call for these things design wise since it's more slow paced and focused on thrills in a different way. The story is also more intimate and personal as well so making only living enemies may have been a choice for that reason.
Personally this game holds a special place in my heart, it’s my top on all games ever, even though it’s the smallest I played. It just captures my imagination and peace, best game I have ever experienced to be honest.
Honestly this game is really really special to me, and I feel like I can’t agree with this review. (Or it’s just that Spirit of the north is special and great to me, and also I give this game a 10/10)
To each their own. Unfortunately, I had a lot of silly glitches that kind of worsened my experience with the game and it didn't really seem anything over average for me with mundane puzzles and a lot of similar environments and atmosphere. Did you see there's going to be a second one? I'm looking forward to seeing what all is new in that one.
Yeah. You can pay for tokens/coins to buy boxes with charcter/crew member shards in them. The shards are random, though, so you may not pull the characters you want. The value in that is so small though it may as well not even be in the game. That's why I question it. When I race with others that are at a higher level than me, I tend to win, and the shards only level you up a little bit that you can't even see a difference any way.
I felt the same way. I also find it odd that it’s a game aimed at children, and yet Mickey Mouse drinks energy drinks for energy. Not something I would encourage young children to do 🤔
WOW!!! So far, literally the ONLY review that I agree with 100% regarding this game LMAO!!!! LITERALLY!! I bought it a month ago. At first, I liked it still but was far too disappointed because of its flaws and difficulties. But I kept going learning the moves and etc. The boss August fight truly pissed me off though. Raged quit couple of times LOL!! But then, regain my composure knowing full well that I was far too attracted to its design and concepts and that I would never get rid of the game. So I went back, learn the moves even more, and finally beat August boss almost immediately. After that, the club mission EVERYTHING CHANGED! I went from "Like the game" to "MASSIVE OBSESSION". The way the club mission starts WITH that CRAZY and AWSOME and PERFECT soundtrack!?!?! OH MAN!! That was a deal breaker to me! Just too beautiful! It took me more than a week to beat the club mission right there after. Why? Because I kept jamming to that club mission none stop everywhere I go and when I'm home. It literally took my attention 100%! And to this day, I am still jamming to it. Feel free to check my channel of its latest video I made of the second version of the combat mode club mission OST lol. That joint truly had me OBSSESSED with the game man! And everything else yo!! It was just a wrap from there. I became obssessed with with the game, and now I am already on my third playthrough lol. Back to back playthrough haha! All in all, great review. And literally 100% accurate! The only thing I may disagree with is that the soundtracks are freaking AWESOME! But when you mentioned soundtracks you showed the songs from JukeBox in screen. So maybe your statement was only limited to such? If so, then yeah agree 100% lol. But the missions soundtracks? BRAH!! They're freaking FIRE MAN!! Club soundtracks being my top top top favorites! Just insane. I jam to a song day and nights in YEARS man! YEARS!! This is crazy! All in all, you seem to be putting a lot of work in your review videos. You deserve more subs. I subbed to you. Which I rarely do too. Keep going sir = )!
I totally agree! The club mission specifically was really cool. Especially the way it started. I love the music! I said it was great. I just used the jukebox as a physical representation since I was talking about the music. 😅 Thanks for subbing! I appreciate your kind words. Definitely checking out your Wanted:Dead music. I listened to the soundtrack while writing this review. I have the CD too so I jam to it in the car. 😂
@@naysgameopinions Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeaaaah! You did mention "insanely good" right after stating snappy lol. Somehow I took it a different way HAHA! So I guess, there is literally NOTHING for me to disagree with in that review LMAO!!! And yes, the way the club mission started WITH such iconic tune TOTALLY stole my freaking heart dude lol! DAMN! And where can I get the CD? I want to support them as much as possible! Oh and I meant to say that "I haven't jam to a track days and nights for YEARS until now! This is how crazy insanely good the club track is" lol. Either way, keep up the good work my brother 👍
I know your review is positive but to claim that the combat is stale and lacks depth while wearing the cat ears in your playthrough is disengeneous. If the combat is so simple then why not play the default difficulty or higher? Maybe you just dont understand the combat and its potential depth? Ofc the game will not demonstrate its potential when played on the easiest difficulty.
Totally understand. I did play on higher difficulties, I just went back and used the cat ears to capture footage. Around 1:57 is when I say the "game is arcade-ish and there is not much depth to the combat, other than being precise" By this I mean, (for me), there wasn't many actions required during combat that gave me any sense of urgency or anything I needed to do to stay attentive. Once I started playing and understood the controls, I instantly got it and was good the rest of the game. There are different moves you can pull off, guns you can use, different enemy types to forcefully interrupt your style of play, but I wouldn't call that "depth" with how the rest of the game is. I also say that getting good enough to pull off the moves is fun. I go on to say the combat is stale and doesn't feel right because of what i said earlier and because of the jankiness of it all. I mention the bullet sponges, the odd tactileness/impact of weapons, and how easily you can cheese enemies. I then say that even with the disorderly combat (everything I said earlier), it's still fun and requires initiative. Then at the end I say that even though the game is arcade-ish and moves fast, the haphazardness doesn't blend well with everything else which is me just trying to sum that up. That was just my experience with it though. I know there's the slide and all that you can do with that and being strategic and slowing down time at certain moments and using that to your advantage, but the way I played and saw it was "You hit me = bad. I hit you = good. Block and parry so I can get another hit in and you can't hit me". I feel like the harder difficulties just highlight my problems even more. Sorry for wall of text. Just explaining myself. 👍🏼
Ya I have yet to play it myself tbh. I know theres animation cancelling as well that you can do and apparently once you understand this the game really opens up and the combat becomes a lot more fluid. The systems make more sense. Afaik the way the canceling works is you can use the guard to cancel any attack animation which then allows you do chain more stuff together. The way it was explained its sounds a bit like Nioh and the Ki pulses as one you get the rythm down the game really opens up. @@naysgameopinions
@@naysgameopinions back after I’ve been playing for a little while, it’s definitely a cult classic type of game I love it! I usually don’t play these types of “remembering a hit pattern of every enemy” games but something about this game is charming and has me booting it up when I have time to play. I’m on last gen so I get an occasional crash but looking forward to upgrading and solving that problem for future play throughs so thank you for recommending a great game. Also would you ever consider reviewing Kingdom Come Deliverance?
@blvirwitch8575 Great! That's exactly how I felt about it. Once you get in that mindset and groove of the game, it becomes addictive. I can definitely put it on the list. That's a game I've got recommended to me multiple times, but never played yet. Seems as if I'll like it.
Fair points. I absolutely love this game, and the original. I think they pair very nicely, they both feel distinct and have their own strengths and weaknesses, neither one cancels out the other for me.
Totally agree! It's a lot of fun. Even when I wanted to stop playing, I just came right on back and kept playing. Ha. As a remake though, I think games like RE2R, Shadow of the Colossus, and Dead Space did a better job at following the...stipulations? Is that what I'm trying to say? Ha. Or like the check boxes it needs to check. Like I don't think remakes like FF7R, Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, or the 2016 Ratchet and Clank are good remakes because AS a remake, they don't really hold that title the best they could even though they may be fun on their own. That's how I feel with RE4R as well, but I don't think the original is "better" by any means. They are definitely both good on their own.
I've always been curious too and got it when it was "free" on ps plus and I still probably wouldn't recommend it. It's just very...fine. You can easily skip it without feeling like you are missing out on anything.
