Finally a video that does tomato caning like my mother. She too turned the bottle up side down and left over night til cooled. I don't know what is better. Okay on to filling my jars now. Like Sandy, all tomatoes, no salt, no water, no vinegar.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing. Just make sure you get the hot tomatoes into the hot jars quickly, get the lids on and they will seal every time. Some others have commented that they left them upside down.
EXCELLENT VIDEO! Many accidental rolling out of the Fridge drop tests have proven to me ATLAS mason jars are MUCH more break resistant than Ball or Kerr! Weight of the jar does not matter as much as the composition and tempering of the actual glass. PS: much to my chagrin, the lady demo-ing Classico sauce at the big box warehouse would not let me fish all those beautiful ATLAS jars out of her trash can, what a sinful waste. The Regulators forbid it she said.
While I'm sure your carbide tipped chai 0:02 n will stay 'sharper' longer than a conventional steel chain; it was painful watching how long it took you to finish your cut. The full chisel chains I use; cut easily twice as fast. I can see where the carbide chain might have a niche use; but generally; no. Nice saw though; I have two of them. Plus both it's two bigger brothers. Love my EGO power equipment!
Appreciate the video! I had never not wather bathed but saw a a family in Europe doing this as a tradition when harvesting (and re-using jars they collected or re-used over the year -including coke bottles) another recently with a “Nonna” & I wanted to see if I could find a video that actually explained how to do this & here you are! I’m so excited to save some time this year 😊
Absolutely Useful! Your recipes are perfect - so simple, and time-saving for sure. I've used the method on several different juices and have enjoyed every end result. You da jelly man!
Your anecdotes are not equivalent to USDA research. This method is unsafe, botulism will be able to survive in these jars. It doesn't matter how many jars you have personally eaten without a problem, entire families have been killed with a single jar because of methods like these.
Your statement is complete false and you really don’t know what your saying do you. I’ll wait until you come back and proove your BS statement. Botulism can’t live in PH conditions below 4.5. Come back here with which entire family died from botulism from canned tomatoes. I’ll wait but you won’t find them.
Perfect example of what the corrupt "government" and their dog the MSM has done to people. Believe lies without any personal experience. Worse, they go around sharing their ignorance. Appreciate your processing sir and your reply to the idiots statement re the FDA (corrupt 3 letter agency) above. #PeaceAndRespect
I put DE in condiment bottles I found at Dollar Tree & used them to puff the powder straight into the entrance holes a massive colony of carpenter ants had burrowed throughout a pine tree in my front yard. They were absolutely decimating this tree & had to have been 250,000 strong. I covered the tree, blasted it into every hole I found, & kept coming back to dust the runners as I finished coating my whole yard. When I came back a week later (it hadn’t rained once), I didn’t see more than a single ant. DE is above any bug poison in my eyes. It’s eerie to walk outside, hear bugs chirping in the night & realize absolutely none of it is coming from your yard.
My friend showed me how to do this with strawberries and wondered if i could do the same thing with tomatoes. Im so glad i can. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Boy, I sure hope this works. I just spent $16 on two dozen. The corn is only an hour old. I used your method along with vacuum sealing. Can’t get any more fresh than that.
I don't work so hard, although you method is easier than most, I wash my jars, cut up the tomatoes and bring them to a boil. Add salt & lemon juice to the jars first since I will not be water bathing, when I tur my jars over the salt & lemon juice covers all the tomatoes. Less work for me. When I make sauce the ski s get blended so smooth you can't taste the skins or see them. But our methods are Close, I just save myself the Xtra work. Thank you
First time watching you from Guyana 🇬🇾 I never tried plums jam before I make Cashew jam cherry jam golden apple jam pineapple jam and Guava jam but will definitely try this thanks for sharing
I recently traded my 2012 Ram Laramie 2WD in on a lightly used 2022 Power Wagon already on 37's. I just got back from a 4 day offroading trip to New Mexico with 2 days highway driving and 2 days offroading. I got a real world 13.6 average mpg for the whole trip which I'm very happy with. I run 90 octane no-ethanol gasoline which helps with a little more power and better mileage.
