I stream flight simulator footage IL2 Great Battles and occasionally War Thunder Sim. I am starting my flight simulator journey from having played games such as Red Baron, Aces over the Pacific / over Europe, and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe back in the 90s.
You remind me of me when I used to play a lot of il2 and war thunder back in the day. Makes me really want to get back into it. I rewatched all my old RU-vid videos because of you and reminisced 😢😢😅😅
Yeah, it's just quite absurd snapping your stick in random directions and then figuring it out later as your aircraft falls to the ground. If I had a wingman, they would have been able to make a pass on him before he recovered from the spin. Too bad I didn't at this time.
Just a heads up, I think you are applying your wind in the bomb site the wrong way. Heading 230 with wind coming from 280 gives 50 degrees off the right side of the nose. You can see in the bomb site how the ground is moving diagonally which shows the drift is not accounted for correctly. A shame about the stream snipping 😢
machine guns do not fire because the screw does not spin, they shoot synchronously through the screw and the faster the blades spin, the higher the rate of fire of the machine guns. The gun fires because it is located further than the screw BEHIND IT, do not forget about the MW-50.
@@blackcatactual Thank you, i thought I recognised the canopy/windshield, I only have the A-1. BR 3.0. just so you know RU-vid thinks you re playing War Thunder lmao. What IL-2 game doyou have? I have Cliffs of Dover on DVD-ROM just havent played in ages
Great flying! Hey I got IL-2 and every plane except the ta152, whats the best way to find a flying group and get started in multiplayer? I really want to fight against real people now haha
I think you made a mistake at 7:06 that's worth analyzing. You make a pass on the mosquito, no hits, that's fine. But then as you overshoot him, you turn towards him which puts you right in front of him. Then you reverse your turn and put yourself in front of him again. At that point you're in a scissors with him which means you're wasting energy maneuvering.
@@blackcatactual you're a Dora, you can easily throw a short fight with a Mustang, especially since he had rocket pods xd Besides, it only worked because there was just one enemy around who didn't really care for you apart from dodging
Hi Are you associated to Frog Actual? I note on the forum he said he lost access to his IL-2 purchases on steam. I note this was a few days after I myself was banned again from multiplayer. I criticised Enigma on the 13th July, then on the 14h July I found my multiplayer list was empty.... Then about 5 days later (19th??) Frog Actual's post in the forum. Looks like support closed his ticket without resolving the issue. To me it looks like Frog Actual has been unfairly and erroneously targeted by the 1C company for simple similarity in name to myself, even though there is zero connection between he and I....
Keyword is "somewhat" Kills can still be stolen in IL2. If you shoot off someone's rudder and they fall to the deck and hit the ground, they count as your kill. However, if you do the same and someone else shoots them before they hit the ground, it counts as an assist. It's why people still dive at falling planes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So I'll just throw out a few things. I will say I don't have much experience flying the 152 but here's everything I can think of. If turn performance seems worse than expected the first thing to consider is weight i.e. fuel. Again I'm not too familiar with this plane but based on the stats the full fuel is heavier (relatively) than some other planes. e.g. full fuel load 388 kg 190 D9 and 736 kg for TA-152. I couldn't get a great look at your fuel gauge but it looks to me like your fuel level is quite high. Second is battle damage. Obviously only matters after you took that hit towards the end and certainly when it caused the wing to break off. Some say that the adjustable stabilizer matters. If wing stalling is your problem then the stabilizer shouldn't be the problem since it should only increase elevator authority but a lot of folks like to go tail heavy on the trim while turning. That's about all I can think of.
I've had some help since this flight and I had the following problems. 1. Not turning coordinated. IE not using the rudder. There is a lot of nose yaw in my rolls, which shows this. 2. I was on full fuel, yes, which I should have reduced given how efficient the TA152 is with its fuel load. 3. After taking hits, my wings snapped. Which I failed to notice early enough to bail out as there was no audio cue. 4. It's quite well documented that the P47's flaps are busted in this game and turn it into a UFO. I've used the TA152 since and have done better with it. Thank you for your help though,
He does indeed. We're planning to do a series like that and if you'd like to do a video like this, we can as well. Haven't seen you on in a bit, good to see you again! Cheers!
This was maybe the 1st or 2nd time I flew up in the 51. I rarely get to fly allies because the allied player population is always higher than the Axis side during late war and I don't want to add to the imbalance. If I had my preference, I would fly the following planes as often as I could: P38 P51 Spitfire BF109 FW190 TA152 I often find myself in the 190, especially the Dora, because I rather like the way it dives and rolls. In a high speed dive, you can roll with anyone and pull sharp to get guns on, which can catch a pilot out if they aren't careful.
You and me should do some 1v1s. Id have to watch this on a screen bigger than my phone to see exactly what's going on but there seemed to be a few small mistakes that added up
It was an annoying and frustrating dogfight. The plane kept constantly wing-stalling at the slightest elevator input and I couldn't understand why. It had never behaved this way with me before. I was flying it the day prior with no issues like this, turning hard in dogfights with Spitfires so I really don't know why it's getting out-turned by a P47 suddenly.
Good content. The P38 can effectively outclimb just about everything at 4100ft/min below 10k. So if you have energy, don't get trapped into a deck turn fight. Hit and run tactics work best. I have a couple hundred hours on Combat Box in the P38 in VR. It's plenty capable when flown correctly. Good job on the video.
Thanks. I was feeling pretty useless after that, but this is what usually happens. Lots of the other players have way more experience so it feels quite crushing to be wrecked like that.
