For some people in the comments a covered woman is a sign purity. For me a sign of purity is someone who does not go around sleeping with everyone that could consent or dress like you got no self respect. Not attacking anyone's religious beliefs. I'm just sharing my own opinion.
The problem is not the hijab, the intention of the ones in power is. Now... as a muslim hijab actually helps me, the less people see of my body the less they can comment, i don't need to follow what's trending on beuaty standards for validation, hijab gives me assurance that it's OKAY to limit what people can see of my body, that it's OKAY to limit who can see my body. I wear hijab by my own decision, hijab doesn't hinder me from formal education, from earning money through my own shop, from socialising when it's necessary. Hijab doesn't caged you, A TYRANT DOES, like some twisted leaders with selfish motivations in some country. The qur'an suggests women to cover but it's not punishable if we don't. It also suggests men's attire. Please people.... try to differentiate the religion from the tyrant who weaponisez it. Maybe if you're interested to search women scholars, merchant, warrior, sufi, or other muslim women in islam history you will find that despite their hijab they're able to make their name and became one of the most honored figures in Islam.... Leave the prejudice and search for yourself.
