to the question of if the verticality is the answer to future of cities: not everywhere. a lot of places are rather expanding outwards, than upwards, and surely there are lot of NIMBY's in many places ( especially in US), however I believe that dense urbanism is more sustainable, with dense low and mid-rises, also walkability is very important aspect in the cities. However there will surely be more vertical urbanism in the future, especially in City Centres and surely it looks cool!
Great point! I agree that dense urbanism, with a balance of low and mid-rises, plays a crucial role in sustainability and enhancing walkability, which is key for livable cities. Verticality, especially in city centers, definitely has its place, and as you mentioned, it looks incredible! I think the future will see a blend of both-cities expanding outward in some regions while others push the boundaries of vertical living and design. It's fascinating to see how different urban models evolve around the world. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our channel focuses on showcasing the incredible architecture, design, and modernization happening in China. We aim to highlight the innovation and creativity within the field of architecture, regardless of political perspectives. Everyone is welcome to appreciate the art and craftsmanship behind these cities!
chongqing only developed a distinct identity because of its non negotiable landscapes, not because of its architecture. architecturally its still very much an identity-less non place as most international cities are.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! While Chongqing's landscape plays a huge role in its identity, from our experience when we visited the city, we didn't feel it as a "non place." Its mix of cultural and modern architecture reflected a very unique identity for us. In fact, it was one of the most shocking cities we visited in China.
I'm sorry but please check our description, there you will find all the sources from where we got the materials. We also use our own content and animations. Regarding the comments, they are real people, but it's an interesting idea the fact that you can comment on your own video. Thank you for sharing.
We are glad you found our video cool. We only talk from the perspective of things we experienced ourselves while living in China. We are architects and we are trying to share the architectural point of view. If you are also an architect or related, we are open to exchanging ideas!
@@ahmedzakikhan7639 Actually, the municipality of Chongqing is the largest city in the world by population, though Chongqing is not the most populous urban area. The municipality has over 30 million, this number includes its large rural population. In 2020, Chongqing surpassed Shanghai as China's largest municipality by urban population; as of 2022, it has an urban population of 22.8 million.
I cannot even fancy how it should be living in such a populated city... Maybe are we completely losing the contact with nature? A lot of questions on this kind fo urbanistic developments...
Thanks for your thoughtful comment! It's definitely a unique experience living in a city like Chongqing, with its dense population and vertical growth. While it may seem overwhelming, many of these urban developments are actually incorporating green spaces and sustainable design to reconnect with nature, even in such a massive city. Balancing urbanization and nature is a big challenge, but it's something that cities like Chongqing are working towards.
@@ahmedzakikhan7639 Thanks for your comment! We believe parks are essential in cities, they provide a much-needed balance between urban life and nature. Even in a city, access to green spaces improves the quality of life and well-being. It’s all about creating a healthy environment for everyone, whether you're drawn to the city or nature.
I actually haven't heard about this city. Your video has left me really stunned. And the questions you put on the table are quite concerning for the near future in other countries all around the world. Only time will tell...
Thanks for watching! We're glad the video made an impact-Chongqing is definitely a city worth knowing about. You're right, these questions about urbanization and the future are important for cities worldwide. Time will tell!
It's amazing to see how important it was (or is) the simbolism for the Chinese culture. And it's very interesting to see the love for the details, that maybe we've lost in our modern cultures.
Thank you! Symbolism is indeed central to Chinese culture, and the love for detail is still very much alive. It’s amazing how tradition and modernity blend in their architecture-so glad you found it interesting!
I've always dreamt to visit these amazing architectural complex. Thanks for bringing me in. Of course, I'd love to know more abour the interiors design of the palaces and living rooms
Thanks for your comment! After living and traveling in China, we haven't come across homeless people in the areas we've visited. But thank you for bringing attention to the important issue of homelessness around the world. It's a complex topic that needs more awareness, and conversations like this help highlight the importance of creating spaces where everyone has a place to call home.
@@mikestewart4752 We can only speak from our own experience, and during our time in China, we didn’t see any homeless people anywhere. But we appreciate you sharing your perspective!
Fast going up and fast coming down. As Bloomberg Business Week reported back in 2012, Chinese buildings constructed at this rapid pace often have only half the lifespan. It's not safe or sustainable.
Thank you for your comment. In our video, we focus on presenting factual information about the construction techniques and technology used. While it's true that rapid construction can sometimes raise concerns about safety and sustainability, these techniques can also be applied in ways that prioritize long-term durability and quality. Of course, not all buildings in China are constructed this way, and there are many examples of innovative, sustainable projects that balance speed with safety and longevity.
Sorry to be that guy but come on. This is a blatant copy of the @hoogyoutube talking about of Berghain, except the Chinese club in question doesn't sound at all exclusive or hard to get into. From Reddit: "Club Master is where you can go if you want the Chinese-style club experience with overpriced table service only, no dance floor..."
Thank you for your comment! We’ve mentioned from the beginning @Hoogyoutube in our description, as we genuinely admire his work and have drawn inspiration from him. We're still a small channel, doing our best with the resources we have. Our focus for the video was on the design and architecture of Club Master, which we find worth mentioning. As for using ‘exclusive’ in the title, that was in reference to the club's amazing light technology, which is unique and this is the only place that you can find it. We appreciate you watching, and we hope our future content resonates with you more!
After researching and living in China, we found the club's prices high. So it is exclusive because not many can afford it. But we didn't want to mention this because it wasn't our main focus point for the video. Thank you for your comment!
@@mikestewart4752 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand that opinions about countries can vary greatly depending on personal experiences and perspectives. Definitely not the most exclusive place, but a very cool club nonetheless. the only problem is that with so many tables and no dance floor, it always felt like nobody was having a good time. Almost nobody is ever dancing, and so many people are on their phones. I always enjoyed the tech and sound, but the vibes and the people were never very fun. Plus almost anybody can get in, you just have to know a promoter which is easy to do. There are definitely many better and more exclusive clubs in Shanghai
Thanks for sharing your experience! You bring up some great points. While the club has cool tech and sound, the vibe can definitely vary depending on the crowd and atmosphere. It’s true that having more space for dancing could improve the overall energy. As for exclusivity, there are definitely other spots in Shanghai with a different kind of experience. Appreciate your honest feedback!
It's quite interesting to follow the efforts of China not just to keep up with the technological advances, but to go further and further on using them to create those amazing spaces.
Thanks for your comment! Indeed it’s amazing to see how China is not just keeping up with technology but pushing the boundaries to create such innovative and experiential spaces. Glad you found it interesting!
Absolutely amazing place! It's unbelievable to see how the different studios involved have take the most of technology and design to create a one-of-a-kind space.
We are happy that you like it! We found it fascinating as well and that's why we wanted to share it on a video. We hope to keep showing you more amazing places like this moving forward! ☺
Why? Because china wants their people who cant afford to travel to see the real european cities and how in shitty condition most of them are. So china built a much better copy one for them to see.
The development of 'fake cities' in China is indeed fascinating and has sparked a lot of discussions. While they may serve as a way for some people to experience Western architecture and urban design, there are many layers to these projects, including cultural, economic, and social aspects. Thanks for bringing up the topic.
Yeah, it's definitely sad that Toriyama didn't get to see the impact Black Myth: Wukong has made. His influence on storytelling and character design will always be felt, though. Thank you for your comment! we hoped you liked the video
It's a game that was made by game science with utmost respect to the lore of the myth. Also, it gives great gameplay experience, which makes it apealing to many players. So, to summarize, it is a great game that is very fan to play, and it can intrigue people from around the world to learn about its mythological lore and all the places you just mentioned.
Thanks for your comment! We're glad you feel that Black Myth: Wukong strikes the perfect balance between respecting the lore and delivering an amazing gameplay experience. It's exciting to see how the game can introduce players around the world to the rich mythology behind it. Appreciate your support!
There are a lot of historical buildings from the early dynasties being well maintained in wesstern china, like in Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. The story of journey to the west starts out in Changan, which is modern day Xian(Shaanxi Province) and ends up in modern day Napel I believe, is where they finally got their scriptures.
Great observation! Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces are indeed rich with historical treasures, and it's fascinating how Journey to the West connects to these locations. Xi’an, with its deep cultural history as Chang 'an, makes for a perfect starting point in the story. And you're right-ending the journey in what is now Nepal adds even more depth to the tale. Thanks for sharing!
It's interesting to see that the creators focus on the Chinese market and the reaction worldwide has been that amazing. Maybe the interest for the Chinese culture, with all its richness, is growing again? Hopefully...
Thanks for your comment! It’s definitely interesting to see how Black Myth: Wukong taps into the Chinese market while capturing global attention. It really feels like there’s a growing curiosity about Chinese culture and its rich stories. Let’s hope this sparks even more interest worldwide!
Game Science, Black Myth Wukong's developer, is actually from China. So, their main target is first and foremost the Chinese market, but since the game is super well done, it eventually gained worldwide attention (which is amazing). But yes, the success of this game definitely put Chinese culture especially lores / myths under the spotlight and I hope more serious developers would be inspired to make games based on those, because they are really fun & interesting (not to mention, there are a lot of life lessons too)
@SkylineChina Am from Canada and I used to watched a cartoon based on the novel in French, on Teletoon channel, thus why I sort of already knew a bit about the story. I was also located near what you call a China Town and I remember they had a mural of some sort on a building, with all of the characters present.
The game is really a great effort to show a lot of details on Chinese culture. It's interesting as well regarding the business case considering the approach to the Chinese customers first but the reaction of other players throughout the entire world. I really like your approach to all this features to give us the full picture of this surprising phenomenon.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! It's fascinating how Black Myth: Wukong not only highlights Chinese culture but also approaches the market with such a unique strategy. We're glad you enjoyed the deep dive into this phenomenon-there's so much to explore in how it resonates both locally and globally.
Thanks for your comment! As architects who have worked and lived in Qingdao, China, we’ve seen both sides of the coin. While there are definitely things we didn’t like, we were also impressed by the speed and innovation in many aspects of their construction. No system is perfect, but it's always interesting to learn from different approaches!

its because their education system is actually teaching their people important things. the politicians ruined America. keeping us stuck in a state of chaos
China has certainly made impressive strides in its education system, especially with a strong focus on technology and innovation. That said, the U.S. has also been producing groundbreaking research and innovations. Both countries have their strengths, and there's always room for improvement in any system. Thanks for your comment!
"Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Speed certainly has its challenges, and quality is key. China's rapid construction is impressive, but maintaining high standards is just as important. It's all about finding that balance! 😊"
Unfortunately, not all projects require the same amount of research and time. From an architectural perspective, the Sagrada Familia and all the historical projects need a lot of research to make it right, it's not an easy task compared to modern constructions. But is a very good appreciation, thank you for your comment! ☺
But, but, but, can they make a RU-vid-like site that has the simple option to shut off the incessant background rumble/music that quickly drives many viewers away to other videos that allow you to listen and watch in peace?
Indeed it would be a nice feature for RU-vid to have. But as a reference for us to improve, do you think the background music is too loud? Thank you for your input!
@@SkylineChina Incessant music is usually a turn off for me and many others. Music selected and placed now and then (not incessantly) to match the currently playing theme could, like in the movies, work. But apt selection and placement takes extra effort. Not-loud serene select incessant music does work well in some videos, but mostly I've found it not to. Otherwise, a silent background is great, especially in educational videos where we come to learn with focus and enjoy the natural sounds and narration; if we wanted music playing all the time while learning, we could do so at home and with our own choice of it.

China is another level. I think if any of the biggest building companies in Spain has this ammount of machinery, not just to use in one single project, but in their whole inventories.
It's absolutely stunning! But its implications, as you mention in the video, for the future of building in a more sustainable manner, are really fascinanting. Thanks for sharing!
