I love the hook, but the verses are pootly sang by Ian. Burocratic. Bad choice on the song key, too, unfortunately. His voice is buried and inexpressive. It could have been a classic. Not a simple challange to cover Dylan, since Echo is one of the best cover producers ever. I love them, BTW.
It's interesting, I feel like they played this song way too fast and it took the decisiveness out of the speed of the recorded version, but, the fact that Borland played (and nailed the solo) at this speed suggests he knew what he was doing and was searching for the essence of this song somewhat desperately, that what this track originally captured is what Borland was chasing, his only perceived method to capture it was to play fast/with more intensity, yet that wasn't the route to the essence of this song. And something he didn't manage to figure out. I think this is true of so many people.
