That is amazing! I was strongly considering choosing a Swiss Moutain Dog as my working animal on the farm, and while I'm sure mine likely will not be world record material, this solidifies it for me. He looks so happy to have done a good job!

@ Solidus My uncle and aunt have a 130lbs female Bernese. I myself am 6ft1 and weigh 210 lbs. The dog always wins. Humans don't stand a chance. Only on a slippery surface. But on grass, where the dog can really dig in, the dog wins. I tried it. I had the dog on the leash, and then my uncle called her. I couldn't hold her, even though i tried my best. However, there are humans that can pull an entire semi trailer truck. Dogs can't. But it's not really fair because dogs can't wear grippy shoes. A human couldn't do it barefooted either.

Dogs are easily able to tell the difference between pulling and not pulling, if you train them. My GSD wears the same harness and uses the same leash for walking (no pulling) and CaniX training (pulling). She knows the difference, because of my pace, my cues/requests ("easy" means don't pull; "go go go!" means pull), and the bungee extension on the leash. If it's there, she can pull (unless I ask her not to); if it's not, she doesn't.

hey chief i think if they can train a dog to pull a world record they can probably train it to follow a lead

That's how you teach a dog to not follow the leash. Good job.
