I grew up with this recording and still consider it the best one. I heard Browning play the piece with the Seattle Symphony toward the end of his life and he played it considerably slower. This version is on fire.
Back in about 1980, while in college, I read advice to the effect that when one has heard all of Bach's secular music, it is time to delve into the cantatas, motets, and masses, where the greatest beauty lies. This cantata provides ample evidence for this advice. Hoomeyow!!

Wonderful performance and recording. I love this work and you need an orchestra and conductor who love Janacek to bring out the best in his music. This is a 5 * performance.
A great concerto, but I lost the piano as protagonist a little bit. And actually, for the year in which it was written, it seemed a little overheated. Do you think that was an identity thing?
Does anyone know the source of the dove image displayed throughout the video? Would love to know so I can get a high quality copy. Needless to say the performance is a treat.
Beide Gesangssolisten singen gut, aber sehr unterschiedlich. Sehr gute Solovioline. Und die hervorragende, langsame und intensive Interpretation durch Karl Richter! Danke!
I keep listening to random Haydn symphonies. Today I chose 55…just pulled the number out of the air, and again, a masterpiece. Thank God for Josef Haydn
My absolute favorite, especially with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the best conductor outside of Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa. I had the privilege of many live concerts at Tanglewood, in the Berkshires of Massachusettes. Absolutely superb!!!!
Danke!
As a Gould fan I wanted to see how Richter would compare. Now I am convinced Gould got some inspiration from Richter's playing. No limp, overpedaled Bach, but strong, muscular Bach. The same impulsive forward moving Bach which I love.
