I love Gtechniq Citrus Foam….as far as PH Neutral pre washes go I find it cleans better then most, I use it mostly on ceramic coated vehicles and use higher PH snow foams on non coated vehicles….I always do 50 ml of citrus foam and 500 ml of water and it always foams a lot thicker for me then it did for you I’ve seen other people have the same issue with the foam being runny must just depend on your pressure washer and foam cannon I use the Mtm cannon with 1.10 orifice and a 1.2 gpm 1800 max psi pressure washer….Primus foams a lot better for me too but I think you were using Primus I’ve only used Primus 2.0….with that being said I don’t know about the original Primus but Primus 2.0 (PH of around 12-13 according to my PH strips) has alot more cleaning power then citrus foam, still love citrus foam though.. I’ve tried adding 25 ml of gtechniq citrus apc to it before and that was a killer combo too….my favorite alkaline snow foams are Primus 2.0, Car Pro Lift and Maniac Line Foam Gun Pre Wash which is very similar to Primus 2.0 (makes sense since they are both MaFra products and have about the same PH level)
Wow, this was an incredible & very technical/detailed explanation. Just bought a m4 competition, and 2 thoroughly tar removed, iron removed, claybared & 2 stage machine polished it myself. Then applied the EXO coating! Now im wishing i hadve known somewhere that i couldve put the crystal on from!
It's my go to detailer. Use the Turtle Wax Ceramic Wet Wax as a drying aid and then finish off with this. It always adds an extra bit of shine and slickness.
I washed my daughter's car and dried it. Then I used autoglyms magna or what ever it was called to remove all rust particles in the paint. I washed the car again & dried it to remove any residue. I then clay barred the car and washed it again & dried it to remove any residue. I wanted to make sure the car was spotless & perfect before applying this kit. I then followed the instructions and applied the kit. I finally got the chance to wash the car for her today and after around 2-3 months the car didn't even bead. It's total rubbish. Ive used autoglym polishes all my life on all our cars and won't ever waste $149 aud on this shit product ever again. Over rated. May as well spoof on your car and rub that in. Probs be more water repellant than this crap.. I should have just washed the car, polished it and then waxed it and it would have lasted longer than this garbage. If you're gunna use a ceramic coating, spend the big dollars and get one thats actually going to last a few years. Autoglym say their kit should last 12 months only. I got 3 month's MAX...... & that was after all that prep work.... Waste of day...
You really put some effort in to this. Twenty five hits of apc ! Can't believe you only timed the water behaviour to only a hundredth of a second and not a thousandth 😆. Get yourself a gloss meter and there'll be no stopping you. Well done.
Good explanation of the different types of polishing/cutting. I want to attempt to polish my car when the weather improves as have the Meguiars 3 in 1. Will then redo the headlights as they are looking foggy again probably due to not protecting them the first time.
Nice one again, I love the direction you're taking your channel. I only polish by hand (a number of reasons) and I've noticed that the gloss really increases on an abused car even after a simple AIO possibly due to the cleaning action. Good luck
Just a note, only re pressure the bucket if you are using the two bucket system, ( cleaning the glove between applications), if you are not, you will disturb the grit from under the grid and basically grit clean your car!!!!!!!!!!
I think Surfex would take the win for me, based on how much cheaper it is. Could probably up the cleaning ability by using a higher % and still being cheapest.
I just don't see the 'amazing beading' that you are seeing. It's not that much better than the untreated paint. We used auto smart products at a Hyundai dealership, but not the ceramic stuff, as we thought it was expensive and not that great. We did use GardX ceramic coating, and that was pretty decent.
The way i see it. This product is twice the price of most of the other products. To justify the big price tag it needed to perform much better than the competition. It is clearly a good product but no better than the products you were testing. To that end, there is no need to pay the extra money for a product no better than the one i'm already using. Which shows your test did the job it was designed to do. I can imagine it's very time consuming to do these test, you must have the patience of a saint lol. Very successful test, thank you
