A radically contemporary ensemble evolving in a perpetually effervescent music scene, the Bozzini Quartet explores with equal enthusiasm the possibilities offered by the traditional concert setting as well as by more unconventional events. They indulge in taking risks and boldly venture off the beaten track, leaving commonplace ideas by the wayside. Passionate about their music-making, they win audiences over with their precise, supple and detailed playing. The quartet carefully builds up an uncompromising and diverse repertoire, never giving in to fashion.
It somehow evokes, to my ear, 14th century Ars Nova. Jürg Frey never fails to enchant me with his carefully placed sounds and silences. A beautiful performance!
I find this both brilliant and hilarious: brilliant because it's to my taste and will probably inspire my ideas; hilarious because I can't wait to show it to friends and watch their faces, they simply won't get it.
I love Gyula's work. He is a musical genius in my opinion. It is extraordinarily difficult to perform his music well. Congratulations to the performers here.

Niblock was the first drone-music artist I heard (back in the 1980’s) and still continues to be one of my favorites. The sheer richness of the sound is fascinating; I can’t tell if this is one of Niblock’s pieces that is played against prerecorded sound derived from the score or if it’s all “live” (in which case the contact mics are picking up a lot of overtones). The interacting “beats” from harmonic partials beginning around the 3-minute mark (and again, more obviously around 20:30) is the highlight of this piece. Also I like how the low notes on the ‘cello seem to phase in and out, almost like a refrain in a genre of music where such is impossible. Thanks for posting this!
Hi Andy, great question! In Koan, James Tenney made very precise calculations and wrote the cents deviations in the score. The lower 3 string parts use tuners and the Violin I player tunes by ear
You are a fool: you churn out trash, non-stop. Get lost if possible, and never reveal your foul stinking "music" again! A disgusted person from Paris..............................
