Hello, I will receive this camera this week, but I wear glasses but my lenses are quite thin, there is a problem, the Canon 7 does not have a dioptric corrector, with my glasses will I have a problem adjusting the viewfinder
I’m curious, I’m pretty sure the one I’ve got is the F2 (I’ll have to check when I can) but what waist level viewfinder part do I need for that one? What would I need to search for?
The “cable release” on the top is actually for a timer! My great grandma gave me her fathers agfa (same model) and he has a timer that screws right into it!
It may have been dirt cheap 7 years ago when you made this video, but you won't find one from a reputable source here in Europe now for less than €100! Film is back with a vengeance. 🫶🏻
Fast Forward to 2024 ... Buy it from a reputable seller in Japan for around $100 and get a pristine, completely serviced camera. Anything less, and you are taking a huge risk.

So long ago now, however the multiple exposure is done by taking the picture then moving the black lever at side of shutter lever, you pull it down and advance at the same time, this works and your film doesn’t advance, i think there must have been something wrong on the video model as my lever dosent pull down to that ❤angle.

Picked one up for $50, sticky rubber quickly fixed with Goo Gone and elbow grease, sealed with Chemical Guys VRP. With the battery grip it can take AA batteries, use all modern F-mount glass... insane value.

I'm about to order a Canon P with the F1.4 lense, I'd love to have a Leica but i just can't justify the price at the moment. The way I see it, a Leica is like Rolex, others can do the same thing but you'd still love to have a Rolex

Does anyone happen to have any tips for fixing frame spacing/overlap issues with the film backs? I just CLA'd two lenses for my system and now the film back is giving me overlap on frames.
Incredibly helpful review. I was a huge vintage camcorder dude like hi8 and mini DV stuff but i recently lost my grandpa and he gave me this camera. Mine is the Yashica GTN full black version and it’s in PERFECT condition even got the original shoulder strap and leather case. I wanna start using it especially in a couple days on a road trip that me and my girl are planning. Honestly your review really helped me get the gist on this ol’ guy cause I was kinda lost. Heard that this focus method is kinda hard for newbies but hey i love me a challenge😅😅
Sad that these now go for 5 times what you paid. There’s plenty around this price point that say “untested” so they are listed as parts only which scares me. At this point I’m expecting to pay $150-$200 for a fully functional clean copy. You really lucked out! Seems like a wonderful camera.
Damn for real? I just bought one as well and its basically in mint condition and still works as well for 36$. But i bought mine in Denmark as well where there might not be as many film camera enthusiasts or something i dont know or i was just super lucky again. I hope you luck out my friend and find a good cheap one yourself!

I've had mine since 1980 and it still works just like it was new. None of the functionality has appeared to change much from the original. It's an excellent camera especially for a novice or even an experienced photographer.
I haven’t used mine since 1980. I was checking to see if everything still function I extended the film advance and now it appears to be locked in the extended position. Any suggestions?
Just bought this camera off of eBay after doing some intense research on the type of analog film camera I wanted and this video was very helpful! The F2 seems to me the most versatile of the classic 35 mm film cameras because it can operate with or without batteries, you can attach a flash and even an external motor, and extra battery life.
I dont think the og batteries are available. But there are a lot of hacks you can easily do with other batteries on the market on youtube. I've found one that works for me where i used 4 Lr44 batteries, some tape and some aluminium foil.
