Analog circuits, built on the basis of feedback, have an effect that is unattainable for digital ones - going beyond the logical unit level. And let someone refute me, or prove otherwise
What I would LOVE to know though, dear friend is, can one buy this preset or better could you teach us how to get there? Because this is seriously great programming!
This is a stunningly beautiful sound or sounds/pad but it proves in no way that this is better than analog. Why..? If you created this pad you are a painter in a way... do you only use one colour when you paint?
I love generative and I think bitwig is the future for it. I was pricing out just a little ambient box the other day and was immediately 5k worth of modules and would never be this flexible. Is there a video on how this was built, I'm on the patreon but haven't had time to really dig in yet. Polarity is amazing with the grid, please more generative setups like this and basic setup flows for us noobs.
You can say this for any genre that is saturated with too much stuff that sounds the same. Rap / Hip Hop has arguably become the most garbage-tier, derivative junk in existence. At least unremarkable ambient is often relaxing, as opposed to unremarkable rap, which is just obnoxious.
So by definition then, ALL music made w digital synths and gear is what...soulless . All the last 20-30 years of it? But wait, what about hybrid setups... That's a tough one then, hey? 😂😆
I knew quite some time ago that the battle of analog vs digital is over. Digital won and it's not even close. Don't let any audiophile to convice you in opposite. Firstly, modern CPU's are completely capable of making sound that's more precise than analog will ever be. More precision means also better "random" emulation, thus digital is better at what is percieved to be analog's selling point. Secondly, most people out there use computer as medium for making AND recording sound no matter what equipment they're using, unless they're completely computerless hermits using magnet stripes. Therefore synthwise, using analog input to be processed to become digital is just redundant in modern age, it's much more convenient to work with digital input directly without analog-to-digital transformation. Thirdly, the signal that goes into our sound systems is analog anyways, we don't percieve music as binary orders put in our brains directly.
BEAUTIFUL!!! I agree digital is way better than analog to create new sounds but analog also is a beautiful tool to, to me the most important is how much creativity we have and inspiration and that's coming from different source or divine. In this song I see your connection with the divine source and I thank you for that! cheers
@Wh0isRichi3Analog is way better than digital, the sounds are more rounded, and it happens because digital measures the waves by tiny little points called samples, so the waves are more like a square, it's like when you look at a image that is 640x320 and image that is 1920x1080. The digital sound you can "see the pixels' the analog you can't see it, or in this case hear.
Can't dispute the science. :) All joking aside, I know a generative patch like this could be made with a hardware modular, but only with thousands of dollars worth of modules. And then you can't save it as a preset. But to each their own. Beautiful patch.
