This video was good..your original was good too. I guess mini coopers are sort of a small group? This video came up near the top when I put in "chameleons mini cooper" or something along that line, because it's been a while since I saw that video...too bad it's no longer available because of copyright.
Thanks for asking Diva.... the legal bastards of the musical world said I couldn't post the song... I'll be posting a new video with my brother's music accompanying it. He's good. Very good. ;)
Great song, beautiful scenery and gorgeous car. I also noticed the hair flip and how tenderly you looked at the camera when setting it. :) I didn't know of the song, except I was on a Mini Cooper message board where you mentioned the video. LOVE it, so thank you!
BTW: The music is David Gilmour "On An Island" (David of Pink Floyd fame of course. He is pure GENIOUS). Great album. It received continuous play in our Greek rental car in '07.
Well, if that was sexy it was absolutely unintentional. I was just capturing a momemnt in time for us. Unfortunately (for me) that way too hairy woman strolled by in the beginning. Gotta love Europe. Anyway, my wife and I became obsessed with finding those little shells on that gorgeous (Plaka) beach. And we'll be there again next year. :-)
That is one of the nicest areas of the lower NY state area. My cousin grew up in Sparkill NY then moved across the border to Northvale NJ. I grew up in South Florida but I have some excellent memories summers in that area of NY.
We are just about as far south as you can get in NY... Manhattan is only 30 minutes away (with traffic). :-) New Jersey is even more scenic than this area, despite what many think of the Garden State. I'm a native and proud. :-D Thanks for "watching" a great tune.
Thanks Simon, the video was shot from my apartment as I traveled southbound on the Palisades Parkway in southeastern NY - about 35 kilometers (20 miles) north of NYC. I motor on this road every day either north or southbound. The Chameleons UK really impressed me with this song. The rest of the album is on my iPod. Cheers!
I think you must be the unique north american to drive a Mini listening to the Chameleons..congratulations , I think that less than 20000 people in this planete know this band
What would make for a very nice ending touch is some kind of transition, going from the inside camera, to a stationary camera shooting the car from the same angle but showing the car going away at the end. Not sure exactly when. I realize this would take some kind of video editing, but that idea just came into my head.
Hi DaveTinNY, so pleased to replied to my post. You should check out whether there are any DVDs available in America. I recently got a new one from the US tour in 2002. Its called 'Ascension' & was filmed over two nights in San Francisco, its well worth seeing.
Thanks Maultin, comments like yours was the whole reason for posting this video and the music. The song does it all and that band deserves a lot of credit for making great music. I have to be honest and thank XM Satellite radio here in the US for playing the song... I had heard it back in the day on terrestrial radio but never knew who it was. I bought the CD. Excellent album.
This post has got it all. The Chameleons, my all time No1 rated band & The Mini, my 1st car & still the one I would love to have again. ps - I live in Middleton, Manchester, where The Chameleons are from. Still see Reg Smithies occasionally.
The chameleons didnt do much in the way of videos for thier songs. I have an old vhs somewhere they made when they were on tour in America with a band called (I think) The Mighty Lemondrops.
7thwave, I've got the Sony HDR-SR1 (high definition video, 30 gig hard drive, no tapes or minidiscs). "Nero7 Ultra Edition Enhanced" is the video editing software I use to manipulate the .m2ts native files. Works great. All of that said, this above video was compressed so much in order to fit it on RU-vid that it really looks crummy. Oh well, the main reason for the post was to put up the song. The original vid looks fantastic on my HDTV.
I wish I was driving at 3x the speed but that would get me a ticket. ;-) Yeah, I just wanted to upload the song because it's so good and I thought why not put a vid of me driving the MINI. :-) Thanks.
