Storage is cheap so this shouldn’t really be an issue these days. Obviously your storage needs will be different depending on number of cameras and your configuration plus how long you wish to keep video for. Also using codecs such as h265 will also greatly decrease the amount of storage you require!
Great product. Now go after a new market and make a mini-180 camera for aftermarket mounting to rear bumpers vehicles or frames of towed trailers. No one makes a 3-camera monitor software (back-up/left/right side views), so a single 180 degree view will work just fine. Need it more for the side views, when blind backing out of parking spaces to see vehicles and pedestrians approaching. Would help us all especially seniors big time., Even most new cars do not have back-out side view cameras which are more useful than rear view. That's what a mirror is for and drivers ed. You'd be the 1st and would sell well.
The single most important reason is the legal liability. If someone uses a fake camera, they are assuming the same liability of installing a real one. When you installl a fake, you are admitting you have a problem.
Wow! Thak you for your visualization. Now IEC 62676 standard gives the following numbers for D.O.R.I zones: Detection of people: 8 pixels per foot, observation 19 ppf, recognition of known people 38ppf, identification 76 ppf. For dori calculation I use jvsg lens calc. And your video gives quite a visualization of different lenses.
