I haven't seen all of Phylicia Rashad's movies but that bedroom scene showed how she can play any role. For some reason I like her better in this role than as Clare.
“Get dressed.. it’s party time..” yikes! This was one of my dad’s favorite movies🤣 I miss my old man. This brings back so many memories. & I was literally born the year this thing came out..
Thank you for this! I happened upon this movie after Mr. Gossett passed. Do you know who the young Black boy in Queens was? He looked like Keenan Ivory Wayans to me.
I love Giancarlo Esposito. It sounded like his brother had some sort of mental Disease based on the drastic changes. He also seemed a little off as well. Could be a hereditary mental disorder. She identified with his pain because she had experienced it also. Some people react weird when backed in a corner, but clearly he had no intention of hurting anyone or the gun would’ve been loaded. He was all talk and no bite. Great movie. I love watching true stories….
An Aaron Spelling movie. This was the day of unrealistic happy endings, gotta love it, cute movie, great duo, way before Thelma and Louise was ever heard of…..
I’ve been looking for this movie for years but I couldn’t remember the name of it. After doing an IMDB search on Mario van Peebles, I finally found it. Thank you for posting.
This is a great movie. It is very inspirational. I first watched it when I was 10 years old in 1980 and again in 1981. This movie makes me very emotional. I do cry and watching Andre trying to survive and help his mother. As a first generation Greek American, a lot of Greek Americans outside of Detroit do not know about this true story. I was saddened to hear that Andre got into trouble later in life and tragically died in 2000. His memory be eternal as he is reunited with Mr. Butsicaris in the Lords Gallery.
