Before you switched to Amsteel how did you store the straps as you went up the tree with your climbing sticks. I just bought the xop x2 sticks and the vanish hang on stand. I am having trouble figuring out how figuring out how to store the straps. Also does filling the sticks with foam add much weight to them. Thanks and God bless.
Awesome video man. I just got some x2 sticks and was thinking the same thing about them straps. I would like to get 4 of those ropes made. You have a link?
@xxTRAILERGANGxx yes I do. But if you like DIY stuff, you can make them for less than buying already made. I sell them on the side, but it'll save money to make them. Take about 2 hrs to make a set of 4. Order 1/8 in amsteel Blue on Amazon. You'll need 100 feet of it. Buy a cheap fid in the sewing isle in Walmart or wherever. Walmart has a pack of like 5 they look gold in color and are small enough for the job. Get the blue handle thread/string puller there as well. You'll need it. #1Measurements of 17 feet per daisy chain you make. #2Fold that in half. #3 in the middle where you folded Measure off 2 inches. That's where you will do your first brumel splice. Run the fid in the center of you 2 inch spot feed opposite tag end through that. #4 then run your fid through the side you just pulled through. Take the side you first used amd feed it through the center of that 2 inch spot. #5 repeat process down the rest of the cord. At the end, leave about 8 inches of tag line. Cut the ends fresh. Run your fid through the center of of the amsteel. Not all the way through like you did with the brumel splice. But squish the cord up to open center. #6 run your puller through the tag end all the way up to your last brumel. Place you other tag end in the puller. #7 pull it through. #8 You'll have to pull about 5 strands out of the tag line and cut them in order to bury the line inside the other. #9 once you've pulled it through put heat shrink on the end. Cut the end of the tag line for a fresh cut end. Then make more. You tube has videos on the brumel splice and how to bury line. If you use my measurements, it'll leave you with the finished product I make and sell on the side. Link below is my etsy shop. It's new to me but that's where you can find the stuff to buy. farleyboutdoorz.etsy.com
