So much pleasure in watching your painting process videos! Thank you so much, Nick!❤ Looks like you had some struggles with the giant design, but he came out great! I like previous version with the axe too!
@@taniatigris definitely a lot of trial and error with that fella! So often I tend to keep my creatures obscured in mist and fog, my wife kept saying "I wanna see them in detail!"
@@huuphuoc6697 Hi! I used some custom shapes from a pack I got from a kit by artist Hardy Fowler. This whole pack is basically a step-by-step of a lot of the techniques I used in this piece. I'll link it here: www.digitalpaintingstudio.com/Cyber%20Punk%20City
@@hannipham-t5s I'm on a computer using a drawing tablet and stylus. I've tried using an iPad, but I'm so used to my big ol' monitors and having my keyboard for shortcuts, this has remained my preferred method :)
Thank you! It helps me focus on shapes and composition for those early stages, before I commit to the design. An artist I've taken some courses from often emphasized that if you can get an image working in silhouette in the early steps, you're 80% of the way there already 🙂
Ship fall down. Lol! This picture, just like the last one, gives such great story vibes and makes me want to know what happened before and after. I guess that's all up to the individual writing that story, huh. Great work, Nick. Love it!
This has totally inspired me to do some of my own cyberpunk art! I grabbed a whole bunch of the shape tools you suggested in other comments :) I was wondering what you used for the lit up areas/windows on the megablock towers?
That's great to hear! For the windows, I believe I mostly pulled photos from free sites like Pexels or Unsplash of city buildings at night, dropped them in wherever I might want windows, set the layer to (I think) color dodge, masked it all out and then painted the windows back in just in the spots where I wanted them. Hope that's helpful! Happy to elaborate further
I'm so ready for October weather, it's been so hot in Seattle this week, this was my way of trying to escape to the cooler temperatures of spooky season 🎃

Hello. I just came across your process video and was so impressed by how much work you put into such a complicated scene. I also learned some techniques by closely observing your process, and I wanted to say thank you for sharing your process (+ showing how you manage to organize your layers, I was struggling with how to do it for a really long time). And I wonder if you are planning to release any more process video like this? I'm eager to see what you're creating in the future.
@@ThuyNguyen-tx4ct Hey thanks for the comment and thanks for asking! I really do need to get back to recording as I work, I would like to put out more of these. I should be doing some more personal stuff soon, will try to do some more process videos, I appreciate the interest!
Love the minimalist approach to this! Also, although such a megacity with enormous archologies would certainly be a polluted environment, it looks somehow beautiful and serene. Nicely done!
Hello! Sorry, I just saw this now, RU-vid decided to stop sending me comment notifications for some reason. I have a pen tablet, I use an XP-Pen tablet with a screen, but any tablet, screen or no, would be good for this kind of work :)
@@NickTerryArt thanks man, I’m trying to buy an XP pen tablet and stuff, hopefully I really master the art of digital art and concept art one day 🙏 Thanks for responding I Have time to wait haha 😂
That Landscape Can Brought My Mind To Feel A Future And With The Soundtrack That Is Very Suitable With The Landscape. I hope Like that again Bro.Yeah Like In Future Cyberpunk 😅
