We're Bia and Doug, a Brazilian couple who left everything to travel the world.
We love traveling and watching videos to discover new places. Therefore, we decided to document the places we visited in series, showing more of the local culture, indicating where to stay, suggesting cool things to do and recommending what to eat!
Subscribe to our channel and come with us!
Some of the places we show here on the channel: Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, United States, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Japan and much more to come...

Bulgarian youghurt is famous because of the special bacteria that grows only in our land ...the bacteria was found by bulgarian and french scientists in paris univercity, after an exploration of where people in europe live the longest life and it comes that in bulgaria people live very long(it was arround 1900s) and they start researching the diet of bulgarian people ,thats how they started deeper exploration of the youghurt and the bacteria was named lactobacilicus bulgaricus, after our country,....the bacteria makes your imune system very strong cause it makes your colone microflora resistent to other bacterias that do you harm and rotting and we know that 70%of the imune system depends of your colone health, also doctors say that the dead starts there too,so thats why our youghurt is a super food, like gauls in asterix animation had a super potion😂 and the romans couldt defeat them😂(we are famous as balkan prussia and that we dont have lost battle or captured flag during the third bulgarian state(1878-to today),while we have captured flags, from, romania, turkey, serbia, russian empire, british empire, french empire, greece, italy and more...we defeated all the mentioned during the first world war, second ww,the balkan wars and more
A fun fact: even after leaving Bulgaria, we continue to enjoy Bulgarian yogurt. Here in Japan, there’s a brand called Meiji that makes (or imports) a yogurt literally called “Bulgaria” (ブルガリア), and it’s our favorite! Thank you for commenting and sharing this amazing insight into Bulgarian culture!
@@biaedoug the japaneese and the chineese import just the cultures of bacteria and they produce it localy with their milk....in china they sell a brand called momchilovci, after a village in the rhodope mountains and hudreds of people go there anually from china...just in china they sell one billion(with the b😃)buckets of youghurt every year and in japan it is very famous, also we are known there with our sumo wrestler named kaloyan, but famous there as kotuoshu and he was a great champion,he is from rhodope mountain village also
When the first chocolate factory was opened in bulgaria more than a century ago,the owner brought to her grandmother a peace of chocolate and she spit it and said that it is a cat poop😂😂 and never ate it again😂😂😂,also when the first tram train start cruising in sofia people was afraid to use it and it was needed famous people to get in so the others follow them it even was free at the beggining.....in the west when the first train start traveling people used to think that they will die if move with 50-60 km/h😂😂😂can you imagine.....thank you for the good presentations of our country and godbless
That's hilarious! It's amazing how times have changed. Imagining people being afraid of chocolate and trams makes hahaha. Thank you for sharing these wonderful stories! We’re loving learning more about Bulgaria’s history and culture.
The church on tzarevets,is not a working church with service and the paintings show the fall of tarnovo under ottoman rule and how they killed 111 nobleman ....and many of the citizens, later they wanted to kill the patriarch (he used to lead the defence of tarnovo, cause the tzar evacuete himself and his family up north)his name was evtimii and is the last patriarh of the second bulgarian empire, but when the soldier lift his hand to cut evtimii head his hand dryed up in the air and the turks got spooked and decided this is sign of God and they didnt kill the patriarh but send him in a monastery
Before we build alexander nevski catedral, bansko church was the biggest ortodox church in bulgaria and on the balkans.....and the wood between the stones in the old houses is not only decoration, but is deliberatly put as earthquake resistance, cause it is more flexible than the stones
That makes sense! We didn’t know about the stones or that there were many earthquakes in the region. The Bansko Church is impressive;!we think it has one of the most beautiful interiors we've seen.
@@biaedoug it was very hard to obtain a permission to build a church during ottoman times,it was possible after a big bribe to official,or if the governor was more nobel and generous person may be you had heard that many of our churches was build underground cause the turks forbid them to be too high ....it was so hard to build a church that the town of elena close to tarnovo was called bulgarian betlehem because they had three churches😃....just for example in the town of asenovgrad they have more than 100 now.....
