Poor Toyota. When hybrids came out, I moved up from straight ICE power. I have owned two Prius's. They are great cars and have saved me a lot of gas. Now, electrics are here and I want to move up again. Where is Toyota? Pushing hydrogen or ammonia derived from fossil fuel. And then throwing 70% of their available energy away by using them in combustion engines. Not a recipe for success, I think.
Its toyota, they know the future more than any car company. And they are not moving towards battery. Must be some big flaw they havent solve yet before production.
Unfortunately, to my sadness, I will never be able to have the GR Yaris, my dream car, in time for 2030. When EU regulations prevent the sale of internal combustion vehicles. In Portugal, the life of those who love cars is very difficult. 😢
all I want is a Corolla Hatchback EV.... no crossover no SUV and no sedan why don't you have the prototype of the most important car body type ? just become of NISSAN LEAF? that should be even more reason to do it...! ...
This is the question though: Is there a car that works with either electric OR benzene? Meaning it doesn't matter even if gas is unavailable in some area?
I heard that in many comments, that's not always the case , it depends on your luck if the battery failed in the future, but plug in hybrids has an increased percentage to malfunction earlier that hybrids 😮
Question for toyota so if the line goes to the battery ii will charge but if the line goes in the other side then it will lose battery so if you have a toyota hybrid car you dont have to charge your car
To reduce production costs, a combination of sodium sulfide solid-state batteries and PMEF cells, which use liquid ammonia instead of hydrogen, along with solid oxide cells using ethanol, biodiesel, and methanol, can be used. The market should focus on plug-in hybrids for mass-market vehicles, such as cars, vans, small to mid-size trucks, and motorcycles priced under 30000 EUR. Wireless high-voltage charging ranging from 150 to 450 kWh should also be considered. This approach can be used for larger transportation vehicles, such as ships, railways, and airplanes, as well as heavy-duty vehicles like mining and construction equipment and various types of trucks. By using the same hydrogen and gas station infrastructure for wireless charging on all public and private spaces, a separate charging box is not needed. A parking meter can control one or more rows of wireless charging spots. With this approach, a single charge can provide better autonomy as the battery can reach up to 800 miles and is not affected by weather, made out of non-combustible solid electrolyte. Another 443 miles can be achieved from one refill, and you don't need to charge your battery as frequently because the electricity produced by using ethanol or ammonia is stored in the battery. Therefore, after a few refills at a fuel station and a visit to the grocery shop, your battery will be charged as each private and public parking has fast wireless charging pads.
Awesome PRIUS development! It would be great for marketing of this iconic car to launch a GR PRIUS version with HYBRID MAX power train from new TOYOTA CROWN. POWER and EFFICIENCY combined.
Toyota has completely missed the mark on this one. As someone who would like a hybrid, all I see is "deceptive marketing" at best and a scam at worst. I honestly don't know why regulators haven't come down hard on these "self-charging" hybrids. If I can't charge my car off my solar panels for in city driving, and use gas for distance driving, then what the heck is it for? Regenerative breaking does not a hybrid make.
Understandable w/ this hybrid concept, the better question is ... how far on electric only (emergency) & any alternatives in its charging capabilities (Maintenance) w/ the working volts ? My guess is that this manufacturer would say this vehicle doesn't lend itself to that application. There's other hybrids w/ plug in's that would covers , that one part aspect. But if inclined , being a DIY type owner & knowing the available top speed & range + battery volts , may cautiously venture there , out of warranty , of course .
TOYOTA be warned. If you turn to LGBT madness you will lost your Japanese identity of people of honor and valor once and for all! As for now I wish you all the best. And thank you for a very good car I have been driven for many years!!!
