Hello I watched your all Videos about bull system I Appreciate that you shared the information with the public so I have a question . Some bull system it keeps the Foster spared from the hen until the Stud fill out the eggs. My Question please how will the Foster lying on eggs and make milk without touch the hen , is it that possible? Thank you
The foster cock doesn’t know the eggs are not his, and since he has spent courting time with the hen through the screen, he will just raise them like they are his own.
Cool, that answers several other questions I had. Can’t wait to see how goes for the season. I’m curious to see if/how you’re going to do the 2nd round.
Jason Jordan the second round will just be fathered by the "foster" cocks. Otherwise, I would have to re-separate the pairs and start over... and I won't have the time for that. I will hopefully have 6 young birds fathered by Uncle Joe this round. Wish it would be 8, but oh well.... then he will just raise maybe 4-6 more with his mate.
First thing I had to do was go back & make sure I didn’t miss any videos when I read “Day 4”. 😁. I hope it all goes good. Really like this setup. The hen seems to be responding & at least he’s not so aggressive that he’s beating on her. Looking forward to the next update. This looks like a fun project I may try next year.
Awesome video. Always nice to hear how people got started in pigeons. Cool to hear how you’ve had pigeons over several different decades. 77= my birth year 😁. Thanks for the update. Curious to see how the bull system works out.
Yeah, he was born blind. I figured it out when he did not fledge out of the nest after 5 or 6 weeks. He is off a brother/sister cross. Amazingly he sees enough light and dark to fly himself like a helicopter down to the ground inside the loft, and back in again. Finds water and grit, and eats by taking random pecks at the floor of the feeder.
I won the first race, but then dropped back after that. I think I was feeding some bad corn after the second race. But I do have enough for an old bird team and I am looking forward to OB season! Building a tiny breeding loft that I will video and upload soon! 😃
