Since when it's a drawback for a game to be challenging? OMG! Your order of the CPC version has no reasonable explanation whatsoever. Bear in mind the 128k version of the CPC has the same music score as the C64. The CPC is only second to the NES version. If your order is to attract more comments and use the youtube algorythm to your advantage... look what you've done... Only 3 comments and 556 views in 2 years time. In other words, it didn't work as expected.
I found this list rather random tbf. Several great games are completely missing (eg. Hawkeye, Armalyte, Zak McKraken, Bruce Lee, Last Ninja 2, Project Firestart, Grand Prix Circuit just to mention a few) and many put in an awkward order 🤔
Let's see if anyone recognizes these great games out of the hundreds my friends and I copied off each other: Below the Root, Dragonriders of Pern, Forbidden Forest, Dragonhawk, Phantasie, Autoduel, Cliff Hanger, Castles of Dr. Creep, Questron/Legacy of the Ancients, Realms of Impossibility, Adventure Construction Set.
I loved my ST although I used mine mainly for music and recording. It was fantastic for music back in the day. Ive seen archive studio footage of Depeche Mode and they were using the STE to help record one of their albums. But I still found time to play some fantastic games. I’m glad you had DM at #1. That and Chaos Strikes Back were brilliant. I can still recall the excitement and tension of wandering around those corridors. Give me that over things like Elden Ring anytime. Llamatron too. Another classic. Used to sit up to the early hours with my housemate playing 2 player. We finished all the levels, killing off the Screaming Mandies on level 99 before looping around it all again. I would have also picked these games. Eye Of The Beholder - Like Dungeon Master with an upgrade Ishar 1 and 2 - A French company, I believe (Silmarils). Another RPG but with beautiful graphics. Fire And Ice - Stunning but tough platformer starring Cool Coyote. Took nearly 2 hours to play from start to finish Gods - Bitmap brothers Greek god themed platform game. Classy and very addictive As was The Chaos Engine. More Bitmap Brothers. Great 2 player fun. The Killing Game Show - seemingly forgotten masterpiece. You’re a prisoner in a mech suit. Aim = get to the top of the level before the deadly, rising liquid death catches you. Some of the levels were designed so that you got to the exit literally with microseconds to spare. I had to rub chalk into my palm as it was so sweaty from stress that the joystick kept slipping 😮 Lure Of The Temptress - Point and Click adventure in a Game of Thrones type world. No titties though. Cannon Fodder - guide your platoon through the jungle killing the gooks. Id be traumatised if one of my little men died 💀
Sorry bro, i could only agree on 13 of these games...and thats for top 100. The 30 best c64 games would have bumped at least half of those 13. Great try though!
There's so many...this list had many familliar ones but also many i never saw before. I liked best Defender of The Crown, The Great Giana Sisters, Skate Rock, Paperboy, Airborne Ranger, California Games, Pitstop 2, Toy Bizarre, Montezuma's revenge, Ghosts & Goblins and many more. Good times 😊
I used to always get blown up on the same section of Uridium. I could never figure out what I was doing wrong. From memory it was about level 3 and a chain of hexagons comes from behind can anyone explain? I wonder if it's something like the infamous barrel in Sonic 3 on the mega drive that trapped lots of players because they didn't know they had to push up then down then up etc to make the barrel move horizontally... I used to always fail in magic land dizzy when I went into the chess room with massive piece attacking dizzy. There must have been some step or hack I kept missing. Any clues appreciated, these moments haunted my childhood 😅
I don't know, there is a couple of game on here I liked so to each their own I guess. My all time faves are Star Raiders, Mis. command, Packman, Astroids, Donkey Kong, Space invaders, An F-15 jet fighter game. 7 City's of Gold and some ultima games. Oh yeah, even though it was a text only game it was still fun. A game called Zork. I really miss my Atari St computer. I'm tempted to find one for sale (if I could find a working one that is) and play all the old and really fun games.
Spent many hours playing this on my old C64. First game I bought when I got my Atari ST, simply brilliant. Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes back with Elite in my top 10 Atari ST games.

argon commando pitstop 2 international karate are basicly the only games on this list i would have kept on a best of list for c64...this is probably the worst list i seen. Like where is blue max, gateway to upshai, monty on the run, boulderdash, who dare wins, pirates, defender of the crown, barbarian and so on?
I'd definitely rank Dungeon Master as #1, followed by Kick Off 2 and Turrican 2, and there are a couple of notable absences, but overall I'd say I agree with about 75% of these.
