Yes, it is a hobby type equipment. Unless you are a professional blade sharpener this will work just fine for the occasional blade that you need to sharpen. Thank you for your comment
Thank you, I used a 1/2" square of scotch tape on the last one, this is better. I would also add to thoroughly wash your hands first, it's going to get grubby when the kids get it...but then it's their's.
Thank you for sharing. I use these alcohol inks. My first couple of colors i cut the tips. Then i noticed there were needles in the bottom of the box. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
Great idea, Paw Paw. Gonna try it. I see the Army plaque on your wall. I'm an Army veteran, too. Spent 14 months in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne. How about you?
Pawpaw Great video. But I have a question. I struggle with the cut depth. I understand z position and z size. Z position is how far from the bottom of the wood to the top of the cut Z size is the thickness of the art Am I correct and if so then what is the cut depth?
Depending on the software. In easel you z to the top of the material. The material surface is “0” and you cut down into the material measured in negative numbers. For example .125 deep would show as a -.125. In VCarve by Vectric you have a choice. You can measure on the material surface as I just explained or you can measure from the wasteboard itself as being “0”. In this case the numbers will be positive. For example, a project board .75” thick would show as a .75 and that would bring the bit to the surface of the material
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. My x, y and z were "miles" off, even following inventables step by step with easel setup, and your advice now has my machine spot on now. A thousand thank yous, cheers!
The hardest part of installing this is to locate the studs behind the sheetrock. There are tools to discover that nowadays. But I still find it a bit challenging because I don't know if mines are running vertically or horizontally. Once that's done, everything else is easy. I also don't understand when you said "When you can put this tape on your ceiling exactly where you want it at 3:25 and it will tell you exactly where to install" What happens if you put it off center or, worse, not directly on the studs? I have never used this tape before and was curious about how accurate it could be. I installed a 4x8 Fleximount a couple of years ago, spending hours poking around the ceiling trying to locate the studs despite the help from one of those stud locators.
all newbie need remember, NOT use router to spindle, worst option what have, less torque and noisy lot. bearing not live long, not has plan used cnc machine, worst bearings. same cost buy REAL cnc spindle etc, 800W air cooled ER 16 spindle has more torque than 1900W router, and lot lot lot silent use. real spindle ER16 cost 100-120$ only whit power supply and all collects. same about or cheape than worst router cost.
Have you had any issues with the cart moving as you are jointing? I am concerned that the small area between the casters and the floor will allow the cart to move.
Sir. sorry to trouble u again. but ref to the i clock i have a question about the outer ring cut off i am using 3/4 pine for testing the review shows it cutting all the way through but its not. should i use 75 3/4 as the depth of cut for the profile, thanks. i am duty right now but in the am i will give a another shot. thanks for all your help.
What is the actual thickness of your pine board and is that the same thickness that is in the computer? You can set the depth of cut a little deeper to ensure that you are cutting all the way through. Just remember, you will be cutting into your wasteboard.
Hi! Great review, thanks for sharing. I'm considering buying a Sculpfun S9, but I'm concerned about its long-term durability. Since your video was made a while ago, could you please share your experience regarding its performance over time? Has it held up well, and have you encountered any significant issues? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
The lasers have done extremely well. You must understand that all lasers regardless of the manufacturer have a life span. At full power it is less than time than if you are able to do your engraving at less power. Bottom line, they will all burn out
Thank you so much for leaving this video up! I spent far too long trying to find a tutorial on cutting cove moulding, and yours is the first one that actually showed in detail! I was ready to scrap it all.
Thank you for your question. Each laser will be different and quite frankly the glass is different as well. I always use a test glass to run different power and speed settings to get it just right. Unfortunately, there is not one setting that works for everything.
Ok, that is an aluminum sheet that I primed which this color allows the laser to focus on the color. I often use black and people often have asked if other colors will work. As you can see, yes, you can use other colors besides black.
I'm impressed with her willingness to learn about the power tools and safety. Your lucky to have a very pretty wife. The wedding rings are well done. I have been woodworking since I was a kid, and now I'm 70 and still learning new techniques. I'll be looking forward to watching many more of your videos. The biggest downside is the clean up.
Sir. i have a new version of v carve desk top reference to the clock i cant get the numbers to switch around is there another way are am i missing something following your video. thanks for the great video,
I've done a few PVC projects similar. I dry fit the pieces, use a pencil or marker to put alignment marks on both pieces. Then during glue up it's quick to make correct alignment of both pieces.
Thanks for the comment. I actually love this new desk. It holds the computer perfectly and you’ll see this in more videos as I’m using the CNC. The wobble is because I need caps on the ends of the feet.
This! Jigs should be quick and simple to build, fancy and complicated can come later. I work fast and i hate to wait for star knobs and hold down clamps from Amazon
