My 207.000 mile old LS400 was a better car in EVERY way....owned for 7 years. Had 460 six months.... awful to drive. Brakes terrible. Tyre noise terrible. Wind noise terrible. Steering terrible.
LS 430 owner here. LS 460 is beautiful but too german for me which is one reason I never bought the 460. Then, I hate small overstress turbos like I hate commie democrats, so I never got the LS 500. So far the LS 430 has been great for me for 15 years.
That's awesome. My steering wheel sensor went bad, and my GX was in limp mode not going faster then 20 MPH. This allowed me to get to work and the auto parts store to buy a new clock spring .Thank you.
Maybe show the actual car by the review and not a face shot with a good review. 7 min of the car and 10 min of u talking. No offense, just wish u had taken the opportunity to show the car more
Recent purchase up a base model 2008 LS 460 with 60,000 miles! I have never in my life been so happy with a vehicle purchase. The car is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, previous owner must have garaged and babied this beauty. I could not for the life of me figure out why it was sold. I had to replace the brakes upon purchase, kind of pricey, but I decided to do front and back. The only lingering issue is the Mark Levinson speakers. Even after replacing one of the door speakers, I am still hearing buzzing on occasion in the door speakers. I am hoping to replace them soon in high hopes that’ll fix the problem. Hopefully it’s not an amplifier issue. I have only named two cars in my life. The LS 460 is one of them. I did it spontaneously. Lexi is mine. The seats are very comfortable, the ride is superior. I love how quiet the interior is. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who is a large car enthusiast. I drove a modern LS 500 as a loaner and was not impressed. My car is far superior as far as ride, front seat it’s very comfortable.
Thanks for the video. I am not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but that “Brake” light is probably not for the handbrake, but because you unplugged the sensor which detects low brake fluid, and it is trying to warn you of that condition.
Awesome to hear! Most people commenting are trying to do the opposite…their car has the lights on from some issue and they want them off. 🤣 Always happy when someone is actually trying to do the thing I made the vid for. Rip it!
I have a 2009 LS460. Very low miles because I am retired and don't drive so much. Ride is bad, something wrong with the air suspension. Air suspension is known to be a problem on this year. Dealer is useless. Both headlights went out, replaced headlight controller module. Parts in the air suspension broke twice. Rear window defogger is not working. Dealer is, as usual, useless. I plan to fix it myself. However, things that work, when they work, are great. Great headlights (I have shaky night vision). Many other things are really nice. Would LOVE remote start but can't be added on this car.
Great honest review and well worth a watch. While 30k to 13k might feel painful in 4.5 years, keep in mind the guy buying a new one probably suffers around 65k of depreciation in the same time frame instead of 17k, plus the difference in interest (if there are loans for each). Also, buying a used luxury car is a safer bet than a lower entry level or even sports car as the wealthy original owners commonly service at the dealer and have the ability to pay for proper maintenance. The key is to be the second owner, not third or fourth after the "poors" have bought it and run it into the ground haha.
I have a 2003 LS430 that I bought new, now 180K miles. People ask if it's new. This car is just as good as I could ever imagine. I'd get a newer LS, but I just can't see any reason to do that. If I did, I think I would be a bit disappointed. I will give it another 5 years and reevaluate.
This video is more about unplugging the one plug under the hood to turn off traction control, and as a result these show. Maybe check that plug under the hood, that's the only thing I'd know.
my mother has this same exact car got it in 2019...the first car i learned to really drive i love it so much 10/10 definitely recommend. im going to look into the newer version for myself for sure.
I've driven our family Ford excursion for about 17 years, will always keep it. But I purchased a 2011 black 460L because I was ready for some quiet luxury. It had 101,000 on it. We absolutely love this car it is amazing, I hope to have it for a super long time. I over baby it but it's worth it.
The thumping noise from the brakes is a self check mechanism from the abs pump, this generation suffers from and pump failures but it’s a self check just to make sure it’s working 👌🏼 Modern Toyotas still do this I think it’s comical 😂
In May 2023 I got a 2017 LS. It had 69,500 miles and cost $36,500. Having owned around a dozen cars and trucks over a life-time, this car is easily the best of them by far. I am constantly reassured that I made the best car buying decision every time I start it up.
The oil and premium gas can't be helped. Anything that calls itself synthetic oil will run an easy $75.00-95.00 then you add a quality filter and labor a reasonable $125-145 dollars for an oil change. It is the amount of oil. 18 inch tires about 55 mm high softer on the control arms. Keep vehicle in comfort mode. Coil over struts seem to be nice substitute. Might join the club one day keep on riding.
ok so i changed brakes and rotors on a 2006 toyota highlander hybrid and those lights are on now why are the lights on from just doing a simple brake job?
car is pretty sweet been looking at the 2013 and up since they fixed all the issues the previous gens had like the bad door panels, wind noise and control arms
I always wanted of these. I've owned a 2008 IS250 Rwd, a 2014 IS350 RWD and now I have a 2014 GX460 Base....I'm ready for something that has excellent cloud like ride quality. The problem with this gen LS460 according to the Car Wizard is they have an expensive computer system and the Dealership and only the dealership has the software to service it and is super expensive to do so. I think these look better and have better performance than the previous LS430 But they are much simpler vehicles to service. Lexus Dealership Service Costs are already outrageous for there less complicated vehicles once they start getting around 100k miles.
Good choice much smoother and quieter than S class benz, i remember when i purchased my first benz back in the day and all my m8-s were you end up in bankruptcy... well drove with it 4,5 years and upgraded to next model, thing is if you can fix things by yourself and own some knowledge then there are almost nothing to fear really, only costly parts were airstruts since i had to buy whole unit and aftermarket parts at that time wasnt really aviable like today there are quite different price range of those to pick. Now been watching ls460-s again but thinking about 2k13 or even newer model to seek f sport looks sick also, but since my m8 has 2011 model and ive had chance to drive with it like 3 weeks straight i kinda fell "love" with it, so quiet so comfy and neither w220 w221 s classes even reach that level + now benz prices are so low that pretty much streets are full of those and it isnt anymore "cool" to own it like it used to be 10 years ago, same time lexus atleast i dont see it much here at our streets, there are some but rare sight seeing.
Did it come without air suspension or was it changed out in a conversion strut kit. That’s my biggest concern buying a LS 460 is the expensive repair for air suspension and those knuckle arm control bars😮
I did! If you’re on a freeway keeping her steady, she does real good! Great car…my Lexus GX470 on the other hand is giving me 15.6mpg freeway, brutal. 😅
