This room is probably going to be the best we have seen. I still say JoJo Domanns spirit drives this room. Luke and Nick were shown the way. Got some Dawgs in this room. MJ I expect to turn it up. Linebackers are my favorite on the D. Hitters. Let's not forget Maverick Noonan. Injured last year. Another year getting bigger. Legacy. His dad's name is on the stadium. LFG GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️
I agreed with the Pelini termination. My reasoning is based on projection off of what I was seeing in recruiting, strength and conditioning and roster management. Yes he won 9 games a year but for how much longer? Things felt tenuous towards the end of his tenure in my opinion. Bringing in Mike Riley to replace him? That’s another conversation.
I just don’t understand the conversation of “he wouldn’t have won 9 games for much longer” Because that may have been true, but now we will never know. I don’t understand the argument of firing him for games he hasn’t lost yet. That’s just my perspective anyway
@@TheBACoachsShow I can agree with you there. We will never know for sure what would have been happened post 2014. We just disagree on the forecast for the “10 day outlook.”
I believe the linebackers will be better as a unit than last year. Less proven commodities but more talent. Bullock was a first year linebacker last year and maybe a bit smaller than he wanted to be. Few have made the physical gains he has. Same with Sherman. And then you throw in all the raw talent and throw into the mix a rare talent like shavers and it can be a good unit. Especially with the d line taking a jump this year also. But they’re gonna ya r to be great up front to make up for a secondary that will have some issues
I 1000% agree with you! I think this will be a good unit and will help cover up any “issues” we have in the back end. Our good defensive staff overall is really good can’t wait to see the gains
Hey man, if you're in Lincoln you're welcome to use our studio for your reaction shows...or better yet, join us in the studio on a Sunday night to recap the game with us.
My only pushback- I don’t necessarily disagree completely but something to consider. Will you still consider them out rival if we go 5+ years without playing them in football? After this season, I’m not sure when they are back on the schedule
Well obviously if we don’t play them again, it would be hard to keep a rivalry going. But for right now, they are. Last year, polling indicated that beating Colorado was more important to fans than beating Michigan. I’m guessing it will be the same this year. I hope we keep scheduling them.
I agree with all your points. After this season, we won’t play them for a few seasons at least. We have a lot of non-conference games scheduled out until 2030-31 and as of now Colorado is not on there. Could change obviously
Have to admit, I'm guilty of being worried about running a 3-3-5 base. Knowing the weight the LB personnel would have to take on, I wasn't sure they could take it being so thin at the position. They absolutely proved me wrong and were more than up to the task. Great breakdown, Coach! GBR!!!!!!
As a Nebraska fan I stumbled across episode 6 of your podcast. I liked it well enough to listen to episode 7. And I liked it enough to subscribe. Love the depth of your feeling for our Huskers and I’m excited to hear some X’s and O’s from your perspective once the season starts.
A lot of our problem last year with the o line was defenses not respecting our pass game. We had qbs who didn’t know how to get rid of the ball and true frosh receivers who didn’t know what they were doing half the time. The o line was blocking against a big box all year long. This year, that’s going to be flipped. Raiola is step step step throw. Period
It’s CU hands down! Iowa has become a close 2nd since joining the B1G 🤣🤣. OU was a rival but there’s always been respect there. Completely understand the generational view with I-O-DUH
Lenhardt was a true freshman. Jimari,Nash,Ty are day 1 starters unless injured. Jeudy and Lenhardt, Van Poppel, Williams all 1B . DL looks excellent. TK has a room. Just got Malcom Simpson last night. The 25 class will be top 15. I'm not all in on whether a kid is a 3-4-5 ⭐️. A true development staff. Attitude is everything. Let's Gooooo GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️
KU stock is still slowly rising. Spot on with Raiola. He’s seriously legit. I promise, we r bowl eligible after 7 games. 10 is absolutely doable barring major injuries. With UTEP, expectation, TOTAL DOMINATION, START TO FINISH!!!!! Amen Coach, always room for improvement in each n every game. Great Q&A!!!!!
Appreciate the kind words! GBR! I do expect a domination of UTEP, but I’m looking for dominant film more than I am a dominant box score, if that makes any sense.
O Line must protect Dylan . Give him time to throw as well . An effective running game will help Dylan manage the game. Believe me Dylan will decide who’s on the O Line . That’s why he’s trying to recruit guys to come to Lincoln and they are all four and five star’s .
Appreciate the shout out my man! My opinion, the jury is still out on Dannen, but, we should support his decisions until a time he's no longer our AD. Absolutely loving the content. Looking forward to collaborating soon. We'll have to meet up at the CU game as well! GBR!!!!!!!
Not a lot of players will come in and get paid ahead of performance like Dylan. Unless they are top tier talent in the portal. Rhule will pay for player retention. 23 mil is crazy. OSU paid for transfers and willing to spend before they see the field. I'm OK with it. Agree on Nelson.I saw him personally in the under Armour all star game and watched the Polynesian all star game. Dude is a game changer. A lot of great parts coming together. Rhule is the man. No doubt in my mind. Let's Gooooo GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Got a few good options.. Colorado would be a fun (but expensive) one… UNI on Aug 14th at night would also be a fun one. Night games in Lincoln are sick!
Bo Pelini wasn't great but I knew firing him was a mistake immediately. It's obvious he was what was stabilizing the programs but husker fans were caught up in the past and expected more. I'm a Gator fan and our program has been in a similar state that Nebraska has been in for a decade
Really liked the insights on run scheme. Never having played or coached it can be hard to tell what type of run it is. Hopefully this year we see the trust and chemistry emerge between OL and RBs, in recent years it has seemed like the RBs didn't have faith that the designed hole would be there for them. The RB run game was pretty solid under Riley and in Ozigbo's last year, I remember a lot talk about duo back then. Then the physicality and technique evaporated under Frost. Credible RB run game is an absolute must to keep Dylan from getting hammered on all season.
Well, with Ervin returning to duty 100 percent, we will have a stable full of good backs. All we need to do is have one emerge as the go to guy. But we’ve got Johnson, dowdell, r Johnson, Ives and Ervin. Also, the walk on mazzccua who’s shown flashes. That’s five plus one. We can get through the season with them
New subscriber. Saw you on Twitter and came in to watch this. Walls are made to break. Nebraska gets 6 before the OSU game. Really think this team makes a jump in MR year 2. This team just feels different. Let's Gooooo GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️
DISCLAIMER: Yes, I know the video on my end messes up about halfway through. The audio is still great, so give this one a listen.. This is a great episode and I am working on being better on the production side.
I agree with a lot if what you touched on. I also think watching tape or the professional sport that the athlete want to play is vital. It shows so said athlete how to play properly or so shows them at some point in the game they will mess up or have a error. I know my son has done pitching exercises pretty consistently since he was 7 years old and he is 18 now, so he can do these (fundamental) pitching in games and not balk very much if at all. He has hit the gym hard and put on good muscle although he could eat better. Very good show Coach Audie!!!!!💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯
