Another channel I follow he has sent in his M11 for repairs 7 or 8 times at this point. It seems leica is the most unreliable camera manufacturer right now. I just don’t understand how Leica users put up with it and aren’t screaming about the unreliability of these cameras.
If this was any other brand, the photography community would rip them apart. I’m picking up my copy soon, and this scares me. I’ve had my M11 freeze, lock up on me. The amount I’ve spent on Leica is enough to purchase a car. Lenses as much as main stream flagship camera bodies.

@@camerafusionit hasn’t locked or froze recently, but it’s still in the back of my mind. I’m actually thinking of switching to the Q3, It makes sense. Weather sealed, great build, fantastic lens, macro and video modes. Idk lol, great video as always.
Leica NJ was out of stock. They located another dealer that had 1 in stock and overnight it to me. Exceptional customer service! I could not be happier with the way they handled it.
Great to see your issue got resolved so quickly! Would have been different, if they were out of stock, but since the D is an niche camera with a high price tag they still have stock. Happy for you and hope you won't see any further issues on this camera. My Q3 43 for now is without any issues. Happy shooting mate! :)

First congratulations. Nice to see how it works with the photo app. I have an MD to stand unopened. I don't quite know if I "dare" to open it. Please update as soon as you have heard news about your MD. ! Hope the best for you. I already have the "old" MD - so I know the system. But I also want to say that today I more often grab my Q3 - but my MD is the one for which my heart beats.... Thanks again for the video - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Great questions. They were very fast to call me back and said that they'd send a replacement as soon as they confirm it has an issue... IF THEY HAVE ONE IN STOCK. He said it'll likely take a week or so. Thanks Phuoc!
Yeah, I’m heartbroken over it! I guess if that’s one of my biggest concerns I am pretty damn lucky. Hopefully Leica will get a replacement in my hands so that I can get some videos up before RU-vid is flooded with them 😆
I contacted Leica this morning. They've already issued a return label and looks like I'll be able to get a replacement in about a week. Fingers Crossed!
Exactly! Maybe it's just this copy. I'll keep everyone updated on what happens. I'm glad that Leica was quick to respond. Hopefully they'll get it replaced fast.
About 4 hours away but they don't have any in stock. Hopefully Leica will get it fixed or replace soon. Of course my hope was to be one of the first to have the camera to get that RU-vid traffic... Now it's got to be sent back. Heartbreaking!!! lol
@@camerafusion So sorry for you :( Really hope they will be able to find a quick solution for you. German Leica Online store still has stock so in such a brick edge case they should at least ship you one fast as possible from Germany a replacement.
having bought this camera and 4 lenses (38, 55, 90, 120) i'd say go with either 38 or 55m. with the 90 you are "stuck" in the portrait "mode". 55 isn't wide enough for proper environmental shots but's excellent otherwise. I love the 38mm indoors and for environmental stuff. So in general, 38 and 55 are more versatile than the 90mm.
what does your custom key page 3 look like for AEL BUTTON AF-ON BUTTON AND FOCUS HOLD BUTTON ? I was changing this around and now I don't know what's the best setting for it ops 🤦♀
😂 it’s crazy expensive but OMG I love it! Same reason someone would buy a Mercedes, BMW or Lamborghini. For the record, I haven’t had any issues out of it for more than 6 months or more. It’s my favorite camera by far.
@@camerafusion What about the freezing up? It stopped on its own? There are many reports of all the M11 series (and M10 series) freezing up with no resolution from Leica Corp except to take them back with refund or replacement with new one (many of which also freeze!). I was seriously looking into the new M11-D but have been scared away by Leica's software woes. May instead get an old used M-D (typ 626), which were free of these issues. My guess is that the technologically jammed packed M10 and M 11 bodies are overburdened and, well, freeze up! KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) ! . . . hence my going back to the M (typ ###) series.
As for the freezing issue, I did an update video a couple of months ago ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a8xdTVIPVOw.html I wish I knew what the actual fix was but I'm not sure. I think it was changing of the memory card. I was using the recommended card type and rating, but changed to a cheap Samsung card. Have not had it freeze up one time since. I preordered the M11-D, and i'm looking forward to it. I think the older Leica's bring the same experience, so I say go for whichever you like. I seem to be shooting my M8 almost as much as the M11-P
Leicas are toxic! If you touch them, you are infected. Don´t touch them! I am just sitting in this rabbit hole with a M11, a M11 Monochrome, Summilux 50mm, „Steel Rim“ 35mm, Summilux 28mm and Apo Summicron 35mm…. HELP ME !

I love fuji's rangefinder (style) cameras and they're probably the closest to mimicking the rangefinder experience but it's till not the same. There's just something special about manually focusing with the rangefinder patch that's extra special.
I’m waiting for the new 20-35 zoom & becos I have 28P ; 25V is put hold until I see how the new 20-35. 90V is essential for far distance landscape, travel portrait akin with 85mm full frame type - Pat Kay style
I agree. I currently have the 45p which is why I'm holding on the 55v. I'm just getting into the digital Hasselblad realm so I have a lot to learn about what's what
@@bovver6092 I absolutely adore the camera but I purchased it used and the fact that it was only months old and the screen had play in it. I only save about $600 buying it used and something just told me to return it. And yes the X2D was calling my name too lol. I’m serious thinking about buying it again but I’m definitely going new if I do.
I got this lens, but if I focus with the rangefinder, the object is 20cm further away as is should, be regarding to the distance marker on the lens. Im getting a roll developed to see if it's still in focus. if not, im gonna try take ur approach. really nice info, thank you so much

Start with 55 first which is the sweet spot between the 2. I would rent these lenses before you buy to make a confirmed purchase based on your most predominant photography needs. Personally, I love the 80mm F1.9 lens for dreamy portraits.
