“A soft body and a chained mind suit you. Chances are, you don’t have what it takes to walk the frozen trail. So stay home. And relax.” This is inexplicably missing from the end.
Henry's being so harsh here. I loved Ratt's music especially Out Of The Cellar and Invasion Of Your Privacy. DiMartini and Robin Crosby RIP and I saw them twice once in West Palm Beach and once in Miami just to watch DiMartini play and if any band at all is simply about an excuse for getting plotzed and "reliving the old days" it's Night Ranger. Brad Gillis has unabashedly admitted to that. The majority of the old LA band scene was directly influenced by Henry's good buddy David Lee Roth and his "band of pirates" Van Halen lest we forget or just not aware of. I appreciate good music. It doesn't matter if it's "Alternative Grunge" or "Hair Metal" but if I could take a road trip it would be to see Henry's perception of surreal. Btw I love The Rollins Band and Henry's spoken word.
"then the band put out a second record, no one really heard it..." they had 4 platinum albums in a row, think this douchebag is just jealous. Also kind of weird he whines about how sexist and misogynistic these bands were and then goes on a homophobic rant because the way they dressed made him uncomfortable. What a loser.
Look at the 80’s hair bitches whining bc Henry’s calling their shit bands out. Go “rock out” to your stupid, fake, transgender/transexual music and pretend like you aren’t in the closet.
Ratt were big for like 8 years... Warren Demartini was one of the premier guitarists of the 80s, they had an awesome bassist too.. Henry Rollins is talking absolute bullshit again...
His objective isn't actually to be funny. He's just telling stories about his life and things that are important to him. He's never once called himself a comedian.
Henry, you're a recuring host of the Joe Rogan podcast and the guy promote sold out womens bare knuckles fights... So your english word of the day is: R-E-L-E-V-A-N-C-E
Everything, or 'Eye Scream' is really intense and dark. Yes, it's a bit rant-y, but this was his reflection on America from 1986 to 1995. It's his thoughts on police brutality, racism, the LA Riots, and the brutality of the American landscape. He knew that he was going to receive a ton of shit for it, but still put it out there anyway. It's one of his best spoken word albums/books, but it's definitely not for the uninitiated or casual fans of his work. "You can't right the wrongs because you can't understand the cause and you'll be too busy dodging the effect."
