Hey you did a great job this past year! Remember that a lot of viewers often subscribe to personalities, not just the games. I'm sure if you want to explore others in the genre, many of us will continue to enjoy your content :) Speaking of which, have you considered trying Games like "workers and resources" which si super realistic (you need to even organise construction crews to build the buildings, or perhaps High rise city? Heard thats a nice mix of city and resources. Maybe even Anno 1800? What im saying is, its a nice genre to be in with many options, and perhaps you can dable in some different things, the most important thing though is that you enjoy what you do. Sincerely, a lil someone who enjoys your content :) Edit: Cant wait to see the RPGs you play - did you hear theres a new FABLE in the works?

Glad to hear it! Makes me happy to have anyone at all stick around for other games and change it up a bit. I’ve played a little Anno1800 and enjoyed it a lot! As far as FABLE, it sounds familiar but I don’t think I’ve ever played. I’ll have to add it to my seemingly never ending list 😅

@@brinedpickle Hahah sounds good, Yeah anno 1800 is great, but i still believe the best Anno game was 1404, and later 2070. those two were amazing! Fable is a fantastic RPG where your choices can be either good or evil and that directly affects your character appearance and the world around you. you can also do loads of side things like in skyrim :) Story is great!

I've moved back to BG3 & No Man's Sky, at least for now. As with you, I plan on giving CS2 a while to finish baking. While I'll still be looking for new CS2 content, I'm fine with playing others until that time. Appreciate you, glad you're still at it :) Have the best time possible!

I uninstalled this thing after only 2 weeks. You shouldn't have to fight through annoyances trying to have fun with something, when there are so many games out there you could be spending your limited leisure time on. Hopefully, they pull a No Man's Sky with this thing, and eventually bring it up to a state where it's at least as fun as CS1. But Civ 7 will be out by then, and it won't even matter anymore. But I'll at least feel like i finally got my money's worth when I poke around with a functional version of CS2 some day. Branch out to other town and city builders. Your subscribers aren't here for Cities Skylines. They're here for your take on it. Keep it interesting and fun, and the channel will grow.

As I said, watching the video again now to make sure I actually get to take in everything properly ^-^ I hope you enjoyed your first little journey with mods in C:S 💛 They can be very very powerful and give you a lot of freedom and opportunities, but obviously they can also be kinda overwhelming at first and so on. I hope you had a good experience trying them out ^-^ I think you did a great job using these new opportunities in my opinion though! As I mentioned before, i really like the stage you built and especially how you used these carport props along with it ^-^ I think it's working really well and looking really nice 💛 The music throughout the episode is very cool 🎶 You mentioned during the premiere that you made some of it yourself, right? That's pretty awesome ^-^ I see there's TONS of cims using the area 👀 It's VERY satisfying seeing them walk around your build, isn't it? The one "suggestion" that i have about the festival area is that there are these huge areas that feel and are just a little bit "empty" if you know what i mean. I know that these are meant to be the spaces for the crowd the party and you just didn't have crowd assets available in this build. Bar that, the way that I personally would have tried to fill these areas a little bit is by placing for example a couple market stalls here and there and maybe some tents, some lighting and just some general "clutter" if you know what i mean, just to adds a little bit of visual interest to the otherwise largely unfilled spots. I really love the colorful selection of trees, flowers and bushes around the area though 💛💜💙💚 Always love seeing builds with lots of color generally ^-^ And I think the housing area with the tall but small-footprint buildings looks pretty cool ^-^ It's a nice way to create kind of a unique vibe and it works very well, i think. Thank you so much for the video, much much appreciated 🙌 ALL the best :)

Honestly, as "fun" as CS2 is, I uninstalled that and reinstalled CS1 because CS1 is overall, just better, on so many levels. Which is funny cause in a way this is Paradox and CO kind of beating themselves up since they are literally their own competition. There's so much more I can do in CS1 than I can do in CS2, sure CS2 has some nifty tools when world building and working on expanding cities, but those few tools they have in CS2 can be found in CS1 in the form of MODS, and those MODS are better quality and more fleshed out than the watered-down versions of those tools found in base game CS2.

What is so strange to me is they had several years of proven market research with CS:1 and still got it wrong. The broken aspect is inexcusable, but putting out a base game without a handful of mods that the community totally embraced is mind blowing. No bicycles or rocks, WTF? I've already bought the game so I'm still going to hope they get it right. Until then I'll just play other games. Maybe touch some grass, WHOA let's not get crazy. On a happier note, I'm looking forward to your contributions to the Cities Skylines 6 collaboration.

Didn't they say similar things after CS2 landed with a thud, lots of mea culpas we won't let this happen again, and then they released the dlc with so much hate. I want this game to succeed, but its hard stay positive, especially with the continual missteps

Normally i don't expect anything from anyone in life so i can never be disappointed. In the case of cs2, i have to admit, that after seeing the trailers coming from a studio that made the best city builder game ever & knowing the game will not be in early access from the begining, i had at least, let's say, hopes... But they were completely crushed and until today the game is at least for me a still unplayable mess. When i need to restart the game every time i want to play 3-5 times until the few mods I'm using to get a halfway good experience out of the game will finally load and not crash the game... I just rather forget about it than wasting any time. Currently i also have no hopes anymore that cs2 will ever give me as much fun as cs1 did, no matter what the devs say or promise...

Why anyone would be anxious or excited about a console release I have no idea. If you buy that before you take a serious look at it, you are to blame not CO and Paradox. The PC game is garbage and will be for the foreseeable future, be warned. I truly hope they can turn it around but have little to no trust in them at this point.

trust is hard to get, but easy to lose. As we say in Finland when everything is not going well: They really peed on their own feet. They shot themselves in the knee.

Short and simple.. They rushed the release and thought they coulr fix the game as they go and no one will complain.. But it backfired and the game is just broken..

The suits will never understand the damage they cause by forcing games out before they are ready. CO completely destroyed and uprooted the king of city builders: Sim City - and now they are generating this rushed product. That being said, I like the game, and as my flavor shifts to other genres for a bit, I am happy to wait for them to fix things up and bring in new content. Refunding the beaches DLC was a sign of good faith in my book, even if I am an Ultimate edition owner.

I live in Florida and walk the beaches, drive around the neighborhoods, visit beach businesses. In addition to no beaches, the Beachless DLC was not what I see around me. It left me speechless. I am glad that this announcement was signed off by both CO and Paradox so hopefully both are now on the same page. I do not believe they were before. They overpromised from the beginning of their development and I fear CS2 can never be that game. I also feel that they ignored those who contributed to the Workshop and even if they include them now (and I hope they do invite them to that small group) the game may be too broken. How much harder is it to create CS2 assets and props? Just look at the lack of variety in their ground textures so far. And assets now have to be involved in AI decisions. Will asset creators give up? If fixes and upgrades break assets, will they just be abandoned? Do we wait for a CS3 from CO or some other developer?
@brinedpickle
@brinedpickle 4 месяца назад
It’s definitely not going to be a smooth road ahead I fear. I hope things turn around and I agree it seems paradox and CO are maybe communicating a bit better about expectations and how realistic each others expectations are. Cautiously optimistic but I think they still have a lot of work ahead of them to try to get to where they want to be.

I'm sticking with my "wait and see" tactic. Release was so awful, and I've seen some shady things since, so I will believe it when I see it. It's good that they made this a content patch, rather than a DLC release, given how tiny it was, and seemed to add no real interest to the existing flop. Thanks for discussing it with personal insights. 🙂
