IF I WAS TO BUY A HOUSE WITH A LOT OF STAIRS LIKE 15 TO 20 STAIRS IN A HIGH UP HOUSE I WOULD GET A RAMP INSTALLED. A PERMANENT ONE. I HAVE A FFRIEND WHO HAD IT DONE A FEW YEARS AGO. ITS FOR WALKING UP. IT WOULD HAVE TO HAVE HANDLES TOO.
Buyer Be Ware! These stairlifts are junk! The seat is made of cheap plastic. The chair pads are like the cheap garden knee pads that can be bought anywhere for a few bucks. I was charged $4800 just for the equipment. The installation was an additional $425. They claim the stairlift will support 440 pounds. Don’t believe it. When I sat on the chair it tilted forward making me feel I would fall forward and out of the chair. The second time I sat in the chair, a bolt broke and I don’t weigh anywhere near 440 pounds. I packed it up and sent it back. Now they want to deduct $1,000 from my refund because we cut the rail to install it. How would we have known it didn’t work if we hadn’t cut the rail and installed it. Don’t make the mistake I did, find someone that stands behind their product. Handicare definitely doesn’t !
Hi Michelle, The Escape Rollator can be purchased at www.homesafetycomfort.com/store/p255/Escape_Rollator.html . Give us a call if you have any questions at 262-671-2032, thanks!
The Escape Rollator can be purchased on our website (visit to see current pricing): www.homesafetycomfort.com/store/p255/Escape_Rollator.html Triumph Mobility covers the Escape Rollator by a lifetime warranty on the frame, and a five(5) year warranty on the brake handles against defects in materials and workmanship. Those items not warrantied are wear items, such as hand grips, brake cables, and wheels. This warranty is valid for the original purchaser only, and is not transferable. Triumph Mobility will not warranty any parts that have been damaged due to improper installation, modification and/or misuse.
I was able to get the carriage off the tracks after replacing the batteries. Can the carriage be installed with the switch facing in either direction? The reason I ask is I need for one unit to be on the right side of the stairs, and the second unit to be on the left side of a different set of stairs. THANKS!
We have a Pride Mobility lift chair and the standard remote is a problem. Although he has plenty of dexterity to work the remote, its too complicated for him and he frequently locks the remote by accident. I would like to be able to rewire it to use a simpler remote with a single switch similar to a car window switch. Also, when he gets up, he forgets to put the chair back down and walks off. I would like to build some circuit to automatically put it back down after a minute or two. The remote is connected with a DB9 connector, but I was wondering what protocol it actually uses. Any experience with Pride chairs?

It did not fit the intended tub and had to be returned. Nothing actually wrong with the seat but having measurements would have helped. here is the link to it in case anyone is interested: amzn.to\17NQti9
