I wish you guys wouldn't talk as if we know what you're talking about. You always gloss over the reason I'm watching ie exactly what do I plug in where. If I'm going out from this to the amp before it goes to the speakers what is going in to this from where? Please don't gloss so much.
It makes sense what you are saying, however I think there is a reason why very expensive audio amplifiers for the most part still use huge transformers and large capacitor banks and I don't think its only a psychological trickery. I have heard some very nice Class D amps, and they just sounded thin! Sure they had the best specs and very clear clean sound, but somehow the emotional life was lacking there. I get it, its much cheaper to manufacture class D amps and the profit ratio is a no brainer! At this point I prefer the class A, A/B, A/B/H. I prefer the musicality of these topologies, that may change in the future of course, I like the idea of lighter weight.
My Xpa-3 Gen 2 intermittently goes into protection mode after 10-20min of use. I have switched from rca to xlr for all channels and still same. I have disconnected all interconnections and still same problem. If I just cycle power it’s fine for a bit and it goes into protection again. Thoughts?
There’s a goofball RU-vidr out there who put out a video that doesn’t even talk about the pre-amplifier outputs but he sure talks like he knows what he’s talking about but he’s a goofball
I did use the line level to RCA converters, kicker brand, grounded them correctly and used external amps. The positive.. vastly increased power to get the volume gains that you want. The Negative.. added distortion, not a terrible amount but it is noticeable and a light static noise when nothing is playing, mind you not enough to stop the auto-off functions of the amps from working, but it was there. My concern was more about volume than it was clarity at the time. But if I were to do it again, I would get an amp with pre-outs or just a processor with outs.
Man I am pretty new to this stuff beyond having a simple AV Receiver and speakers. I recently purchased the MR1 AV Receiver and am looking to add a little more power to my fronts for driving all channels at once. Should I use the Basx A2 or a larger power amp with my MR1?
This tutorial was extremely informative. Just the right amount of information, without being too technical. Excellent presentation ! It really helped me ALOT
Hes so right our 10 inch klipsch sub doesnt stop playing when its supposed to, theres always this rumble after the audio source stops playing bass… also our acoustics suck
I had the pleasure of speaking to Lonnie yesterday as all of the sales reps were busy. A true gentleman that took the time to answer all of my questions. I am looking forward to the Xb-2's becoming available again. I will be pairing them with the Basx Ta2 IA. Cant wait. Are there any discounts available on the two items? Great reviews gentleman.
