Not enjoying the thought of a 2D interface in a mixed-reality device, have you guys considered using 3D shapes for the user to manipulate? I think that maybe an object to pull to select a screen, maybe flip it over to confirm the selection. For buttons I'm thinking 3D buttons instead of 2D planes feel more intuitive and less tiring (wouldn't have to keep arm up), 3D toggle switches could be implemented in the same way, and I feel that throwing 3D items away (or toppling them?) would be a great way to cancel an interaction.
This is the exact reason why everybody says that the video isn’t a good channel for XR experiences. You are correct that the 2D interface is not ideal for MR. However, in actual fact all the elements of this product are designed as 3D objects. For example, you can walk around and see an XR card menu hanging in the air and see that it is not thin. Regarding your suggestions for the interaction methods, we do have them in mind; however there are certain limitations for the tracking of gestures on current version of Magic Leap. Free interaction with digital objects is something that everybody imagines while thinking about XR, but the tech is not there quite yet.
The lines are an addition to the whole experience. Basically, they provide a better feeling of immersion for users when experiencing mixed reality. They move slowly in a 3D world and in random directions.
Yes, I'm currently searching for a quality Alexa controlled smart espresso maker, bean to cup, auto-dump, large reservoir. Nothing fits the bill. They're all either too cheaply made or without the smart functions. Plenty of drip makers with smart functions.
