I live about an hour journey away from Southampton and not sure if it’s worth going to accommodation or not . To be able to make friends and go out at Southampton. Is it worth it ?
@@hollyc9893 as a student, it’s much more convenient to stay in the figurative uni bubble… that’s if you really want the university experience. even with mundane activities like shopping, you’re bound to bump into a friend or at least a mutual… definitely worth it. You don’t stay at Uni forever!
Actually on woolston side of southampton there is Weston shore only 13 min drive from West quay and if ur up for a walk from west quay its 45 to 50 min walk ,really good during summer and if Portsmouth is too far there is Lee on the solent its almost the same vibe as Portsmouth .
@@owusu369 not at alll, I lived in London all my life I think 3 years of a new city will be interesting plus I'll be back often cus my family's in London :)
Thanks sister, from Nigeria as well. You missed talking about 2 nice campuses.....Winchester School of Arts and National Oceanography Centre. I grabbed 2 degrees at Oceanography centre and I loved it.
Hi there, could you explain why it’s boring pleasee😭it it a lack of activities, people or.. I’m thinking about going to Southampton that’s why I’m asking
Very like the informative video thanks how would you say people are like in the uni or on campus and like has it still got decent nightlife cause I heard that nightlife scene is pretty decent from Southampton
we have a DJ society, SEMSU. Acc banging, loads of nice ppl to meet and multigenre events to go to, Dnb too. Engine rooms, the Loft, Mile High Club and Sobar are good if ur on the rave scene :)
The city centre has its light and dark areas, I would recommend living in places with more students, than regular residents of Southampton. It just feels safer
Yes. Same thought 😂 I am new student here, all the way from indonesia. Lower the excpectation but living in student halls safe my expectation actually, such as uni link that uou have mentioned, but you forget to talked about free laundry, common room access for entertainment and free wifi 😅
no beach - ouch, bummer. the free bus ride is a plus though. Southampton still is a relatively small town after all. but did you like your studies there at least?
I agree Southampton is an intimate city, once you've been around once, you know the ins and outs instantly. I love studying here, still got a year and a half to go but It was my first and only choice so I better enjoy it!
I would leave the 'stretching under tension' (eccentric exercises) to the MUSCLE GROWTH process. And make stretching it's own priority, because they serve very different purposes. But yes you will have to do more than that to avoid the consequences... RDLS ARE GREAT THOUGH!
I appreciate your feedback! Do let me know if there is anything Physio/Fitness related you would like me to speak about, I prefer to create content FOR THE PEOPLE... x
@@femfitangel probably the psychology of missing a workout. I used to think it’s the end of the world and had an unhealthy relationship with the gym. Now I’m chilling, but it took a while to actually view the gym as a great thing, not something that I have to do or I’ll hate myself for not going
@@femfitangel yeah, agreed. It’s funny that exercise is healthy yet your mental relationship with exercise can be all kinds of strange. You could also make a video on the misconceptions of exercising. I think it’s important to highlight the importance of exercise itself, not to be too focused on what type. After all, it is one of the indicators of early death. Dispelling all kinds of protein supplements other than plain protein isolates. I mean stuff like Collagen, which is basically a scam given that our bodies don’t chose between types of protein like that
I did speak on a lot of those points when I was active on my Tiktok account, especially the dangers of bulking and branded supplements, but I ahve to start from Square 1 on RU-vid... Thanks fo the tip!
not stretching before or after working out doesn't cause muscles to become stiff and tissue stiffness does not necessarily cause pain i get what you're trying to do, and i think it's coming from a good place - but your information is not backed by credible evidence
I consider chronic pain patients when I talk about stiffness. If you would like some research to make you feel better, here you go! Current concepts in muscle stretching for exercise and rehabilitation. Int J Sports Phys Ther. 2012 Feb;7(1):109-19. PMID: 22319684; PMCID: PMC3273886. Thanks for watching x
That paper was published 11 years ago, we’re finding a lot of new evidence that stretching and doing strength training give you the same mobility benefits(depending on the range of motion you perform your movements at). I think the conclusion for older patients would be movement keeps you healthy; but optimally, if they added some weight and got stronger it would be even healthier.
@@femfitangel thanks for the research article but it doesn't argue against my points that not stretching doesn't make you become stiff (probably a lack of movement would be the main culprit, and stretching may be ONE method to help alleviate stiffness), and that stiffness still doesn't necessarily equal pain. please read the article.
This was so so informative coming from someone who’s planning on studying abroad next year in the Uk. Definitely helped me a ton. Tysm for the great video!!! :) <3
@@femfitangel I’m still unsure :( Idk whether to have Southampton as my first option or not. But other than that I’m thinking of the Uni of Manchester & Birmingham. There’s sm options 😭
Hey, I love your channel!!! So I want to ask... How would you start 🤔 I'm trying to gain 20 pounds and become slim thick. I'm 130, 5'6 now. I watched your last video and now this one. I definitely think I'm overthinking this whole thing. Do you recommend just doing 3 exercises over and over again or do you recommend doing a "beginner glute workout"?
Hey love, I can tell you're in it to win it, so thanks for the comment! Based on my experience, I would always recommend you keep it simple- Pick your top 2-3 leg exercises you want to do and stick to them, EVERY WEEK. Ideally, for GLUTES- Hip thrust, Squats, RDLs, Split Squats are your best bet. Hope this helps! xx
