useless git Ted Croker. I was there , in the East Stand middle tier , with Chelsea fans throwing seats onto the pitch - just missing my head. Chelsea scum at their worst.
What a night ! 4 us red n whites it was pure elation and it had sfa 2 dee with the Sheila and gullit saga we had a very tenacious team with ability ! Nevertheless it was a great win .
Great night for SAFC - Shearer missing the penalty the highlight along with Quinny's header & Hutch's calm finish. I must add though that Sir Bobby Robson was a genuine class act & loved & respected on both sides of the North East. Always had a lot of respect for Keegan too.
You hounded Sir Bobby out the club!! Don’t rewrite history. His wife said in his latter years he felt more at home at Sunderland. I was in corporate and Bobby would be at the Stadium of Light 6/7 times a season! Fact!
It was a LONG time in coming, but they do say that good things always come to those who wait. And as for the winning goal, what can you say? Suffice to say, I was surprised that Keiran Richardson's "rocket-like" free-kick, didn't burst the back of the Newcastle net!
two ex Liverpool players talking about a Sunderland vs Newcastle derby, none in England match the rivalry, the hatred, the 8 foot brick wall keeping us apart.
My somewhat casual knowledge of Shearer's penalties is that he most of the time went the other way. I think this is only the 2nd time I've seen him go that side.
He tried to bluff their keeper who probably had prior knowledge of his last 5 pens. Al would have guessed that & went the other way….As did the keeper. 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️ Very good game of football though & S’lan just edged it.
10 year old learning me mates songs should've seen the faces Vera took couple paces vera shot to the right Tommy dove and saved it that's the day that Sunderland put the scum bk in the places
I remember seeing this on the news. About a week or so before the Luton v Millwall 6th round FA cup game in March 1985. That was a pretty quiet affair wasn’t it…………..
