Been a Hedi Slimane fan since his Dior Homme days. I think he is always 5 steps ahead. A visionary. Hedi influenced Karl Lagerfeld to lose all that weight, so he could wear Dior Homme 😊 I loved last season’s Celine film, I think I watched it 10x. This is a beautiful sequel to that. Does Hedi Slimane now belong with Chanel? It’s a matter of timing, I think. Maybe 10 years ago I would have said no. But perhaps NOW, I would say OUI, ABSOLUTEMENT. Bravo to this genius. 🎉
YSL designed Catherine Deneuve's impeccable wardrobe for Bunuel's 1967 film Belle de Jour. Deneuve plays a bougie housewife who out of boredom or inner conflict dabbles in prostitution. The silhouette was kept longer to be timeless. Underneath the facade of a perfectly chic Parisian woman, disorderly rebellion, even confusion. Slimane channels that while still making chic desirable clothes. Would he even want to go to Chanel with all of its dictatorial codes?
Loved this collection. But, did you see the latest CHANEL collection ? Looking at this, it makes me wonder, what if Hedi did CHANEL. and this was it ? The top capped shoes, the bags with the big golden logo clasp, the boxy coat and skirt, the empire waist dresses, especially those with the sequins, the ruffled lacy collars and hems, it could all have been CHANEL S/S 2025, which did remind me of CELINE, but alas, CELINE was so much better. CHANEL IMO, was boring, sad, kind of a dying gasp. Cannot wait for the new designer to come and bring it back to life.
a. For a designer that cut his teeth, and one assumes still, his main love remains in menswear his last two women's collections for Celine has I think personally been his best work in years. And it's not just me that thinks this, my SA at Celine has said the most recent collection for women has been insanely successful. b. Considering this collection was released a couple of days ago, the amount of detail and work you put into uncovering Slimane's references and inspirations is astonishing. As a massive Hedi and Celine fan I really appreciate your work and efforts!
I agree, this is some of his best womenswear of his career. I used to think his best womenswear clothes were really just his menswear but made “traditionally” for women things like his jackets, jeans and of course accessories . But these past couple collections especially have me sold on his dresses. Thank you so much🙏I’m definitely a nerd for this era of fashion and pop culture 🤓 Appreciate you so much for watching❤️❤️❤️
You completely captured it! They’ve been my biggest fashion inspiration since the Boho days, and you found a way to express that so eloquently. Thank you for this video-it was a blast to watch!
My Chloe bags are all really well made. And this bracelet hobo is so versatile that I might just have to get it 🤔😉 Also ❤ the mixed metal look. And yes, it will match well with my fave of all time Susanna boots 😍
Looks gorg! very well done and curated. Wouldn't expect anything else. One thing I will say that maybe is a bit off topic, both times I have visited the Row London store and NY store i was SO thrown off by the customer service. In general the staff were very rude, not just in a funny fashion way, but in a legitimate off putting way. I have heard similar things from many other people as well. Not sure if this is a strategy but I think in today's day and age it is very unluxury like to be treated like shit as a shopper. In fact I was with someone who was looking to buy many items, and decided not to based on how we were treated. Looks up and down, one word responses when asked about stock, and unwillingness to help. I was actually very disappointed (I asked for a specific pair of shoes in my size, and the response was "no" with a very sarcastic smile). I hope this changes! Important to not only have a strong retail presence, but a strong smart team to support it.
Thank you for this enlightening video. The decor is beautifully understated and the Art Deco/modern furniture is exquisite -- carefully selected and thoughtful. This suddenly adds so much depth to my understanding of The Row.
Kim Jones can't do womenswear. HIs work was just boring, simple, unimaginative and looked cheap. His menswear was great, it could be minimalist, it still looked luxe and was innovative.
So that is the big problem because as soon as the big investors they wanted the returns and they gonna start pushing more product and it’s just not gonna be exclusive like they used to be because they’re success was based on quality. Look what’s happened to Balenciaga Louis Vuitton Gucci
@@bluebanisters2889 a blue banisters stan? you're a brave one. Sylvia did amazing womenswear after Karl left, but yeah mens will always be dull at Fendi, i dont expect much from them in that department.
have you been to any of the The Row stores? I like the store space on Melrose they have a water fountain, I like your videos on the Olsens. My only thing I wish the Olsens would do is phase out all fur from their stores and their own lives and INSTEAD replace it with turkey feather garments, which are actually even more glam than fur and ethical. I love marabou/turkey feather garments
I LOVED this video so much, It's incredible the connection fashion, decor and architecture can have and beyond that! You could make this type of video a constant in the channel, I'd love to hear your opinion on the Totame Boutique!
My sister is married to a rich guy and he gives her whatever she wants so she buys "designer bags and jewellery" but little does he know that everything she has is a fake. She puts that money on the side for probably a rainy day. True story LYXBAGS
