I support Y'all but not Jackson State. They're located in sh*thole city of Jackson Mississippi. And Y'all should quit voting those Caucasian kkk looking governors
was deff weird seeing the jukebox in a smaller stadium usually you see them in packed out houses but this was a nice change . you could hear all the parts and the loud drums . they killed it im0o
Southern is unapologetically BLACK!! They played a field show that if it was back in SWAC would have killed it. The musicianship is outstanding, they played what they know R&B and some POP. You have to understand that California has no clue about HBCU unless they went to one. That is why they are as dry as they are. You have a lot of white people, that have no clue about HBCU's or our culture. That was a very clean show.
If there were no HBCUS marching bands would be boring. U try dancing and playing. This is what sets HBCU and regular marching apart there to entertain. That's why at football games there still in the stands instead of goin to the bathroom of getting something to eat halftime is showtime
I agree and this is what makes SU...SU. However, I think they should’ve appealed to the crowd a bit. Take JSU at UNLV and USM. The genre of music played during their halftime & 5th quarters. You have to balance being unapologetically black and mainstream to win the crowd over. If not, you’re only pleasing your RU-vid fans.
They wasn’t impressed they thought it was these niggas first time around until they found out these niggas been around. Super bowls presidential inaugurations sugar bowls and b-ball half time shows. Yeah my alumni the shit and if you’re reading this Pasadena ppl that’s not including Beyoncé and other videos and events they’ve done and done nationally for years. Billboard and major new outlets has published them for years. Y’all better recognize just bc you haven’t heard of them don’t mean others don’t know. But now y’all know. Put some respect on my alumni And love should have brought you home is sung by Toni Braxton Grammy award winning R&B artist the song is from the early 90s they play music from any genre any era!
There called the Human jukebox for a reason .from rock to country they play it all.... I saw them play Welcome to the jungle at the Georgia game and had everyone stund
I don’t know about that. This “people” has. It’s a whole different style, and I like it. The only thing I don’t like (and this is many southern bands, not just HBCU ones) is that they tune their drum heads ridiculously loose, and they don’t pop. (They rattle.) That’s the only thing I don’t like though. Everything else is tight. They definitely know what they are doing.
@@RoyalFizzbin I can agree being a former HBCU band head myself. I love the sound of tonal basses, listen to Norfolk State University's Million Dollar Funk Squad drum line and you can definitely hear the difference.
@@RoyalFizzbin The Human Jukebox tune the snare drums to sound more like a Confederate Military Band, also the up right tenor drums are preferred compared to quads to give more of a live drum set sound.
Oh Heavenly Father, Thank You And Bless You For This Day. Thank You for Protecting us in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena California... Also Thank you Heavenly Father for the Rose Bowl Committee for giving Southern University marching band an invitation. Praise And Glory Go To You In Jesus Name. Southern University Human Jukebox #1 fan.🙂 -Joey
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Orlando Xzavier I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
You will just have to forgive them..They are not used to the heat this band or other southern style marching bands bring. I'm a Yankee that lives in LA and even I give props to the south.
Well, if they performed for a Black Californian crowd the reaction would've been WAY different. When you decide to travel across-country to perform for a mainly white and Hispanic crowd, this is the type of reaction you will get ****Kanye shrugs****
No offense but Southern really needs a better MC. This guy sounds out of touch when he's trying to narrate the performance. E for effort but just leads a lot to be desired.
