My parents played this album every 4th of July throughout the 1960's. Musical History was something I accepted as normal as eating at mealtime and saying prayers at bedtime. Music is our Historian.
I have wondered about 'Easy Listening' music ever since the 1960s when I would go shopping with my parents and heard it wafting from Shop Rite's speakers. Thank you for sharing this. I will post this video to my fellow alumni group at Westminster Choir College . I think they will also be fascinated.
I have a problem with your channel. You have left me with no good excuse to go to the thrift stores and hunt up the boxed sets myself and spend money I should spend on necessities because you have already done all the work. LOL. Seriously, this is a wonderful treasure trove of music and study in music history. Thank you so much!
My uncle owned an appliance store in southern NH back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s and He was a Zenith, Magnavox and RCA dealer! Neat stuff. Guessing this record was done in 65' or 67' ! Love the BOSSA NOVA!!
Cool stuff Scott... I'm pretty sure I've seen this in the crates, and sadly passed over it. Hawaiian music isn't my groove, but this is surprisingly offbeat enough for my tastes. Now I probably never come acrossed it again. Oh well, as the GI Joe Team says, "Now I know... and knowing is half the search. Or the battle. Then there's condition half. And price half...". I'm spinning off quote.
I was lucky enough to have found and bought this 'Aloha Moods' album in excellent scratch-free shape for only a dollar from a local Salvation Army Thrift Store many years ago, but I never gave it a proper listen until now. What a great album and it's very relaxing. :)
Glad you enjoy it! This is a 2 record set that does not have the same tracks as the single album! The single album was a free bonus, this 2 record set was made (using the same cover art) for the Capitol Record Club.
So, as far as I can figure…did Zenith Sound Reverberation essentially create what was called “duophonic”? If it split the speaker feed, delayed one channel slightly and added reverb to both…giving an illusion of stereo and “space “ to mono recordings. Fascinating. Love this and the artwork
I remember being told years ago about how some labels were budget and used ground up vinyl from other records. Were these albums that way? New to the channel. Love it!
Longines Symp[honette Society was definitely NOT a budget label. They had a complete replacement guarentee on their records so I very much doubt they used scrap vinyl.
@@DonOnAMeme I don't have facts but I think who ever told you this was just trying to scare you. Reader's Digest are generally very good quality sets, often pressed by RCA. Time Life sets are also top of the line and I doubt they used scrap vinyl. There were budget box sets from ARA, Crown Records (Synthetic Plastics Co) and others that likely were lesser quality vinyl and may have contained some recycled records. Hard to prove at this point. Just enjoy the music!!
@@boxsetmusicguy9469 the person who told me was true blue. The particular label was a budget brand of a larger label. The name escapes me. Thank you for clarifying the quality of the box set vinyls! I am glad to hear that these companies took pride in their work. Now I have to remember the name of the label I was talking about.
I'm so glad your Back, I understand Life Happens and for Me the best remedy is Beautiful Music. I wish We had those wonderful old FM beautiful music stations of old! Thank you and I wish you nothing but beautiful melodies!!
I've been quite fond of this album for many years, transporting me as it does to a day before electric guitars were EVERYWHERE. Thank you very kindly! 😊
Dear “Guy”, Thank you so much for those huge collections, those forgotten artists and the rare records. It's hard to find this on You Tube. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina and… sorry for my English!
I like to thank people such as yourself for sharing such great music. It brings such peace and calmness to me in my senior years when music was truly great.
Thanks for posting, with all the junk out there, it's nice to listen to beautiful songs without politics, rage or depression. From a time when music was well written & played by musicians, not samples on computer. These days people need to relax & spend time with friends & family more. ☺
