Sir, I'm a fresher and I've a career gap for a year because of searching for the right career paths aligned with my personality so I ended up with product management, business analyst kinda of roles so what should I answer for this gap I have, please answer my question sir, it will help me a lot
Try this - 'After graduating, it took me some time to understand my calling, and once I realised that it was Product Management, I went for it! I believe we should take time to know what we are passionate about, this gap was worth it!'
Sir, i had a break for one years after graduation. And i did nothing during this time. I stay at home. I was confused what path should i choose. Now, how am i gonna answer this. I didnt do any courses 😞
'Post my graduation, I was looking for the right role which took some time' or you can say this, based on the market situation 'Hiring was slow when I graduated and it took me some time to get my first job' Hope this helps, all the best 👍
And if you had a career gap due to a job loss, then say this 'unfortunately my role was impacted due to an org restructure but I leveraged that time to develop these skills' and mention the skills.

Vry effective vdo lecture on communication bt.as a professional in my opinion some of the steps overcoming communication barriers can be sorted out by providing feedback nd upward communication, improve listening skills, develop writing skills nd avoid credibility gaps in brief in my opinion. There r many interpersonal barriers that disrupt the effectiveness of the communication process such as filtering, semantic barriers nd perception.Cultural differences can adversely affect communication effectiveness especially for MNC nd enterprises with a multi ethnic workforce which in my opinion as a professional is quite important Useful nd Informative tips.Thanx.Sincerely appreciated the lecture 👍
Thank you so much for sharing your insights. Communication as a topic is so vast that it's difficult to cover all topics. I appreciate your inputs and agree that we have to overcome these barriers. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍 Hope these inputs also help our viewers!
I really didnt knew we would ask any of these, great to know, this gives me clarity of what i am looking into the company If I get selected. Great questions to get involve with.
Thank you so much for the comment, you can also check out 'The Interview Series' playlist that I have created. Glad to know you liked it and found it helpful ☺
I have been knowing you since ADP days, (2013), and what an incredible way of knowledge sharing has been done here. Even though working for 14 years long, we still tend into shopping mode. I would really avoid that part in my next interview process. This really helped to know my worth and to show commitment towards the company. I would like to add my question here : how to ask / initiate discussion for joining bonus?
Thank you so much, I believe Knowledge grows by sharing and RU-vid is a great platform to do that. To answer your question, some companies have the budget to give JB but not all. While having your compensation discussion, you can mention the incentives, RSU's or any other bonus that you would be missing out if you leave your current organization and then bring up the point of Joining Bonus. This has to be done tactfully so that the HR person feels that you deserve it. And that by giving you the amount as Joining bonus, they are compensating that loss. Hope this helps!

Very informative video. I agree that window-shopping(showing A's offer to B and B's to A) doesn't morally looks good. It also reduces trust not only to individual, but to whole industry. It is a good rational to keep it safe while you continue attempts of getting a better salary, but avoid the practice of informing the loosing party to the end. You should instead decline an offer(within few days) and continue your search with increased expectations. On the other hand, companies should also feel moral obligations to offer salaries according to candidate's skills and not based on his/her current salary. I have seen may companies offering higher salary to a candidate who is either from a famous college/company regardless how average feedbacks were from interview rounds. I also believe this practice emerged because HRs themselves are encouraging this practice. I remember talking to a HR who wasn't agreeing to 1.5X increment, but said she could do so if I had a similar offer or I come from a more famous company.
Thank you Sujit for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate that. And glad to hear you found the video helpful! Organization's hire based on multiple criteria/situations - sometimes they need people urgently and they offer more, sometimes they need top B school grads so they offer more. If someone you are interviewing says they have an offer, you should ask them why are you still interviewing? And what if you get a better offer than ours, will you take that? This issue will continue as it has become a norm in the industry.
I know some folks are in the shopping mode as the need of the hour is more money to support their family. Looking for multiple offers is not wrong if money is your priority, but once you accept one, then you should commit to it.
Sir suggest me one thing please i am working in one organization from last 3 days i recently got this offer, but 1 month back i gave interview 1 months back now i got call from that and now they are offering me slight higher package then in current office. so what should i do should i take new offer or should i not ?
Hi Shivam, that's a really difficult situation to be in. If I was in your position, I would politely decline the offer and inform them that I have already joined another company. That's ethical, that's professional and that will go a long way. Look at your career as long term. Yes, maybe mention it subtly to your manager that you got another offer and you declined it. Hope this helps. All the best!
